  1. That warmup dunk at 30 seconds always used to bug me out (and still does, honestly). He casually approaches the rim and proceeds to extend higher above the rim with the ball in hand than almost any NBA player I’ve ever seen and dude’s just coasting.

    Half man, half amazing.

There might be some better nicknames out there but I don’t know if there’s one that was more fitting.

Even later in his career. Not the tail end, but getting up there. Late nets, Orlando, Phoenix, early Dallas.    15 a game Vince Carter. He’d look normal all game but then have one insane athletic play or dunk that would just remind you that yes he still has it.

Post up fadeaway, three pointer, mid-range jump shot then all of a sudden somebody ends up on a poster again.

  3. Crimes against the rim could be a gay cop porn movie, if it isn’t already taken.

  4. if prime VC was in this era those shox bb4 would sell like hot cakes

  5. Jarveesimo15

I don’t remember seeing that inbound pass off the backboard cock back slamma jamma before! My GOD.

  6. Aesthetically

Is that Craig Sager in the beginning? RIP. Gone too soon.

  7. LifeDraining

Doesn’t matter how matter times I watched this, Raptor Vince was insane

  8. thatNBASongGuy

Umm I’ve never seen that warmup dunk at 0:21 and it’s so casually absurd lol.

The forearm dunk and hang is one thing but to get all the way in to the elbow and then still have enough time to get back out without a moment of hanging is bonkers.

  9. Moghlannak

This is the best highlight clip for any single player ever.

  10. Substantial-Field-77

This man still wanted for the murder of Frederic Weis in the 2000 Olympics

  11. Debra_Messing

lol its the best highlight reel ive ever seen and it doesnt include his best dunk

  12. Fuck. Half of those look like half time acts where dudes jump off trampolines. VCs hops were unreal

  13. Kobe, Vince, and Tmac were the 3 swaggiest/most exciting guards in 2000s era. VC was a skywalker, Tmac was smooth like butter and Kobe was a reckless offensive force. That was the golden era of wing players, even 2nd tiers like Jason Richardson, Desmond Mason, Steve Francis, Michael Finley, Stephen Marbury were all athletic beasts who would give you highlight of the day level plays/dunks.

What’s crazy is the best dunker of all time turned himself into a highly effective 3 and D player as he hit his 30s

This is from the NBA’s YouTube account. They’ve absolutely killed it with some of these player mixes over the last several years. I think my favorite in game NBA dunk of Carter’s is that reverse against the pacers. Insane body control. Other official NBA mixes I’d recommend:

    – Magic Johnson
    – Larry Bird
    – Mcgrady + Mcgrady raptors
    – Baron Davis hornets

This is amazing but seeing Craig Sager brightened my day. RIP the GOAT.

  17. veryoondoww

Where is the Olympics dunk over the dude?! How? Did I miss it?

  18. homerdough

Was wondering where his Nets ones and Weis dunk were but saw it was Raptors only. False alarm, OP is clearly not an idiot

  19. tarasevich

Between Vince and white chocolate, NBA was so fun to watch in that era.

  20. TragicRoadOfLoveLost

That dunk on the pacers is so fucking nasty

  21. I used to think no one can top Levine until I rewatched Carters dunking highlights. Best dunker of all time

  22. Carter had them MJ mits where he can just palm the ball effortlessly which makes it very aesthetically pleasing to watch.

  23. drawsomeaweaome

Anybody else see that random pass in there and came to the comments

  24. No one was more athletic than early 2000s Vince. 44+ inch vertical, huge hands, insane first step, can jump off one and off two with the same force and vertical.

  25. Rawkus2112

Get in here young bucks. This is a good lesson.

  26. Dokutah_Dokutah

Coolest looking playing style ever. He shits on the many other athletic freaks because of his insane body control. Jordan might be the superior athlete but Vince is the closest.

  27. Naismythology

I can remember watching basketball pretty religiously since 1992. The 2000 Dunk Contest was my first truly transcendent “holy fucking shit” basketball moment.

  28. kthejoker

Those throwdown rebound dunks are just so dominating and demoralizing. They should be worth extra they’re so good.

  29. These highlights don’t even include his dunks with the Nets where he had insane ones as well. He deserves to be in the hall of fame for being the GOAT dunker.

  30. Impressive-Potato

People that didn’t watch him don’t know. He was a threat from anywhere. Very creative and dangerous with his off balance shots. The biggest what if in the sport. What if he really wanted to maximize his gifts?

  31. RareWestern306

Best dunker at the biggest time for dunks

  32. toinks1345

this guy was a monster had all the talent for a 6’6″ man to have… then he went to canada I feel like if he went to another team he might’ve been motivated to become the goat. he can fly and he can shoot.

  33. jgroove_LA

it’s sorta wild that we’re living in an NBA era where there are not at least three electrifying dunkers under 30 to power the NBA’s popularity. Vince was hitting there was Kobe, and McGrady. Then young LeBron, Wade, and Kobe. Then Blake, LeBron, DRose and A’mare. Who are the legit must-watch TV high fliers now?

  34. At the time he came into the league it felt like the successor to Michael Jordan had be found

At least it did to me

Obviously VC wasn’t all that but he was definitely the greatest dunker of all time, I’ve still got his Raptors jersey
