What LeBron & Lakers MUST improve to be NBA Finals contenders | Hoops Tonight

Jason Timpf discusses the state of the Los Angeles Lakers with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Jason explains how the Lakers have three solid starters in LeBron, AD, and Austin Reaves, but they have a glaring weakness on the wing, and must improve at both the shooting guard and small forward position in order to contend for more NBA championships.

  1. Lakers DON'T have any desire to move…they have the circus they want media rights, publicity, and too loyal fans

  2. They wont be a serious contender until Lebron is gone and they can attract another big time FA. It seems pretty clear that people do not want to play in the old man Le-GM circus show.

  3. Weight training to gain mass effects your jumpshot. Anybody who plays can tell you that. Shooting Is literally muscle memory. Train one, then train the other.

  4. LeBron doesn't have to play the 4. Totally disagree. Stop pushing this false idea. You find a big that can play next to AD or your rebounding and rim protection gets totally killed when AD has to switch out to the perimeter. You just watched teams expose the Lakers all last season taking advantage of this tactic Jason

  5. I actually disagree, I feel like they could’ve competed against any team in the playoffs, they just ran into a team that’s had their number, Lakers simply need a sufficient back up big and they’d be as good as anyone

  6. I feel bad for Lebrons last hooraw cuz he still has a lot in the tank. He settled for the lakers to draft his son and the great weather. He has fought for so long so I don’t blame him to just try knowing they ain’t winning shit

  7. Why the hell do you keep telling people the same damn things about how the Lakers are close? They’re not close. And you know it. Everyone knows it. 😂

  8. I’d keep Dlo at the 1 and Reeves off the bench , Dlo has a much higher offensive potential than Austin and with a competent coach I think the Lakers would get so much more out of him , they would need a really good on ball defender at the 2 though

  9. Lakers issues are ownership based. The Buss’ would have to sell part of the team to an ownership group that will spend at the highest level. Pipe dream.

  10. Aye Jason………Why are you so hell bent on slotting Austin at the starting PG spot? He has yet to prove that he's skilled or even competent enough to play that position. If the Lakers bring in another guard that's more 2-way or defensive, Austin should go to the bench. As long as Dlo is in a Laker uniform, he should remain the starting PG……….say what you want about DLo, but he's still definitively a BETTER PG everyone else not named LeBron James.

  11. Lebron is not a true 4 thats the problem..He doesnt want to battle guys like a Randle or Zion all game.. He needs to play the 3 and play more off ball. AD has been screaming from the top of his lungs to go back to the 4. Putting another big on the floor that can defend and rebound. So AD doesnt get worn down every season. Play Lebron with less mins. So that way he can be more affective as a scorer.

  12. Can’t Lebron just play PG? We all saw him tell Ham during a timeout to put him at the 1 and give him AR, Rui etc to run with. I guess that worked when they had better POA defenders at the guard position than they do now but point is if they were able to get good POA defenders Bron could effectively run the 1 again with AD being the 4 and a 5 like Wendell Carter(PRAYING FOR THIS)

  13. I’m fr unsubbing why do you spam the lakers content lol. They don’t have to be 70% of your videos.

  14. we are not playing Austin Reeves at the 1….didn't we get enough of that experiment? he couldn't even get the ball up the court at times last year because of pressure up the floor…No thx that's a disastrous start to the season…

  15. Starters: Reaves,Russell,Vanderbilt, bron,AD. Bench: Vincent,Christie,Knecht,Hachimura,Wood. Idk man we pretty solid tbh just gotta stay healthy

  16. Everyone…even Austin Reeves "super fans" knows he needs to come off the bench, and this guy is trying to exult him as the STARTING POINT GUARD??? How rich is this? really just go back and look at the tape of every game he started with us and you'll see….HE NEEDS TO COME OFF THE BENCH!!! Less Top Tier Talent that is going to pick him apart!!!

  17. If u replace Rui/Dlo with Brown and Finney Smith where u gone make up the 12 points lost in scoring? Bron would have to average 32 and AD 35.
