Knicks Targeting Omer Yurtseven For FINAL Roster Spot… | Knicks News

The New York Knicks have 1 final roster spot remaining. This offseason, NY has been one of the most successful teams, adding all of the necessary pieces to contend for a championship. However, the one area they have taken criticism has been how they’ve handled the center position. Isaiah Hartenstein left the Knicks in free agency to join a powerhouse in the West with OKC. That left NY without a starting center they could trust to play 65+ games. NY can’t solve its situation at center now but they can help add insurance to the position in case another injury occurs. Using the MLE to sign Omer Yurtseven would be a great move to improve this roster for next season and give confidence to a front office that clearly has little in our current center depth… Troy Mahabir breaks all of this down!

  1. 🟧🟦🟧🟦🟧🟦🟧🟦Awesome. Let’s go!!! I’ve been wondering about Ömer Yurt7 for a while now. Big Yurt could help. He can block shits and he can actually shoot the 3. Let’s see what happens. Great video. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🟧🟦🟧🟦🟧🟦🟧🟦

  2. Omer could be a good option for the Knicks. He will fit well in Thibs defensive schemes and he can score the basketball.

  3. With all due respect to Hukporti, but the Knicks were too hasty in giving him a two-way contract. That spot should have gone to Skapintsev.

  4. I hope Jericho Sims proves all of you wrong, including you, Troy. You are beginning to be just like the New York Media, not to say Marc Berman of the New York Post. Sims is more Athletic than any other player on our team. I am not going to give up on Sims. Sims will have a breakout year. The season has not even started and people are talking garbage about Mitch. Look at Joel Embiid, you don't hear that kind of mud about him in Philly.

  5. I was more impressed by “Dmytro Skapinstev” in the summer league than Ariel Hukporti. Idk what else they wanted to see from Dmytro. He did a little of everything in the summer league games. Maybe they feel he isn’t fast enough for the NBA Pace… ???🤷‍♂️???

  6. I told you that last time I was on your website, I am the person who keeps asking about Omer, the center the Knicks were trying to get Omer out played him . This is the one Omer he is better than I heart.

  7. I agree with Chris, I just don’t think what’s the problem with adding Dymytro!!?? He has the potential of being the player we were interested in (Kessler) if not better!!

  8. I’m gonna throw a name out there for MLE. I know it won’t happen but Cody Zeller. He plays tough and does the dirty work. Is he elite? No. Exciting? No. But Zeller has experience starting and he has stuck around the league because he can take up minutes and bang with bigs. I’d take him over Yurtseven and Sims until trade deadline.

  9. I feel the team would rather work from within, having a player that already understands the system and knows how to operate under Thibs. Being fair, if this guy was good enough, Miami wouldn’t have let him go and he could have played the five and allow Bam to shift to the four.

I don’t see him having any sort of advantage on either side over Sims. They wouldn’t have waited so long to get him unless he was so far down on the chart for signings.

  10. Nothing to lose signing this guy, especially if he is an expiring contract, another 5 million trade chip to throw in a deal at the trade deadline with Achiewa and Payne.
