[Trudell] On Jan. 13 (home game vs. Wemby and San Antonio), the Lakers will be thrilled to add the newest Purple and Gold member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, Michael Cooper, into the rafters, retiring his No. 21 alongside the rest of the Laker greats.

    Cooper was one of the best perimeter defenders in the 80s — a lot of his steals and deflections helped spark those Showtime Lakers’ fastbreaks
