  1. Considering the realities of the league, our schedule is a lot more cohesive than it usually is. Our roughest stretch is shaping up to be in mid-January with a home back-to-back of OKC and New York, followed by yet another back-to-back of Indiana, Milwaukee leading to a 3-in-4 in Denver.

It’s been said already; the people who make the schedule in the league make it as difficult as possible to get Joel to play that Nuggets away game. It is what it is on that front at this point.

The only major complaint about the back-to-backs is that they have us playing a lot of good East teams on those days, and you basically have to strategize which opponent matters to beat more. I hate just pencilling in scheduled losses, especially since it will probably be thin margins for top seeds just like last season.

Finishing on a positive note, they gave us our usual soft schedule to close that last week or so. Also get a soft landing kind of going into the All-Star break. All our long road trips have at least two weak teams in there. Usually, we’d have to face 4 playoff teams in a row, and then they’d throw in a B2B at the end of the trip against like Sacramento or Utah. There’s some bullshit in there like always, but no one gets a perfect schedule these days, and I think this is the best flowing one we’ve had in a while.
