KC Jones. 11 rings – 8 as a player, 1 as assistant coach, 2 as head coach. One of only 8 players to win a gold medal, NCAA and NBA championship. HOF all around … nobody talks about his playing career, ever.

  2. TheGrateCommaNate

Brandon Bass. Solid player but he’ll literally be forgotten in ten years.

  3. First one that popped in my head was Dino Radja.

Feel weird saying it because he’s a hall of famer, but Dennis Johnson… he gets so overlooked in those 80s teams, the fact it’s referred to as the big 3 and not the big 4 tells you about how overlooked he is

  5. Havlicek. I know it sounds crazy but he is underrated

Is this by Celtics fans or by everyone?

Cuz we talking wide world it’s Hondo. I know C’s fans give him his flowers but his name is not brought up outside of Boston circles.

  7. I’m not familiar with the old heads like KC jones so maybe they take the cake. But I gotta mention Rondo, the ultimate true point guard

I feel like he doesn’t get talked about enough despite being active so recently, maybe because of his twilight years being underwhelming/ a Laker, maybe because Big 3 caught on before Big 4.

But his passing game was unrivaled and so fun to watch. His defense and finishing at the rim were also phenomenal and don’t get talked about anymore. He carried the big3 many times, especially as they ran out of a gas.
Shoutout to Rajon Rondo, all time great

Rondo. Because they always called it the big 3 and after the first season he was arguably the most important player in the team.

  9. Jayson Tatum.

He might genuinely be the 2nd best basketball player to ever wear a Celtic jersey.

Yeah I would say John Havlicek. At his peak he was a 28, 8 & 8 player & I think a lot of people forget about that because he played 50/60 years ago.

Really special player & forgotten whenever talking about some of the all time players league wide.

Havlicek, Cowens, Sam and KC Jones, Tommy, DJ, Ced… The list goes on. This is a hard one.

I’ll go with Havlicek. For him to have had the career he had and never be brought up in conversations with Bird and Russell is insane. I’m still taking Larry as the franchise’s GOAT but he is firmly top 3 behind those two. Sorry Truth.

  12. Rajon Rondo. People forget that he was head to head with Lebron and Dwight for best player/Top 5 in the league for a moment in time. His ability to hang with the big boys (Pierce/KG/Ray) as they were on their way out the door was unfortunate.

  13. I also want to shout out IT. He came in like a hurricane, gave everything he could for us and went toe to toe with the best.
