How Kyrie Irving Ruined His Career

In 2017 Kyrie Irving requested a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers, as he wanted to lead his own team rather than playing in the shadow of LeBron James. However after a miserable tenure with the Boston Celtics, he realized how difficult that actually was. And now… he’s spent the back half of his NBA career trying to recreate what he once had…

  1. What exactly is ruined? Isnt he still under contract? Did he not make the finals or something? What am i missing bere?

  2. As a Celtics fan that watches just about every game, Ky was one of the most frustrating players I ever watched. He was the most talented player on the team, but the team played worse when he was on the court. And it wasn't for a lack of effort.

  3. u right bro, idk why i wasn't subbed. i guess the algorithm shows you on our feeds anyways, keep up the good work tho

  4. Kyrie’s biggest mistake was forcing a trade from Brooklyn to Dallas. There were definitely off court issues but Brooklyn were absolute force on court early in 22-23 season. They had 18-2 run from Nov 22 to Jan 23. East was wide open to take. I think if Kyrie stays, KD, and Kyrie would have made 2023 finals. I ain’t saying they would have won vs Nuggets but they could’ve definitely given a much tougher fight than Miami Heat

  5. He was the 2nd best player on a team that was literally in the finals last season how is his career ruined

  6. Im not even gonna bother watching this shit, title alone is dumb, dude just made the finals and signed a contracts making about $40 million a year.

  7. I understand him not wanting his legacy to be Lebrons sidekick during his redemption arc, but I believe he should have stayed. He is still a superstar but I believe we would view him n speak about him completely differently by this point in his career.

  8. He didn’t ruin it but he could’ve been so much more instead of forever being labeled as Lebrons side kick and barely a top 10 PG ever He had a great situation on the Celtics and could’ve won mvps and spearheaded a dynasty but his antics put him forever in that robin role

  9. I found valid reason to criticize Kyrie his whole career because his talent was only outweighed by his endless bull$h!t. I couldn’t understand how people defended him. Particularly after the wake of destruction he left with Brooklyn.
But that being said, I think he really redeemed himself as a teammate last year and if he keeps up that energy, I see another title in his future.

  10. What's more disturbing is allowing Skip Bayless to talk about basketball sounding like a crying crippled hyena being mauled by lions. He doesn't even sound disturbing or sad. Bayless is just an ugly sound of an old man who pretends to know anything about basketball. If Kyrie decides to play volleyball in Brazil, I'ts none of any a$$hole's business.

  11. The Cavs should have had a shot at beating the KD-teinforced Warriors in 2017. The Warriors almost surely would have won, but Kyrie made their work easier. Time and again, he plunged into iso-ball only to be hopelessly trapped. Irving was in delusion for a long time. He fancied himself Kobe-2, and wreaked havoc for years in Boston then Brooklyn. The reason he seems to have matured in Dallas is because Luka defers to him. He's deluded himself into thinking he's Batman, and Luka his Robin. I won't be surprised to see that rapport between them evaporate when he hears more and more comment that Luka's the no.1 Maverick.

  12. Amazing video my G and I’ll use this example as it pertains to Kyrie’s NBA career as a whole:

If you had money as a kid growing up and your parents gave you everything you needed in life while at the same time never had to work for anything in your life so all you grew up with things being handed to you at a moments notice, compare that to a life where your parents didn’t have much but you were grateful for the opportunity to work hard for yourself and the people around you. Who would live a more disciplined and better lifestyle and at the same time would either of those lifestyles be better or worse depending on which one you chose? Maturity is not a linear path and it never has been so arguing that Kyrie didn’t have an ego growing up in the 2016 finals at 24 years old (which I’m 24 years old now) is very disingenuous if you think about it

  13. Ruin is a strong word he definitely change the outlook of his career though. If he would have stayed with bron he would possibly have more chips and all that negativity he received while being in Boston wouldn’t exist

  14. This story reminds so much of Neymar’s story

Both wanted to be the main man and both played with arguably the best player of all time both living with regrets on how they moved away 😢

  15. i respect kyrie for moving on of clevland insteaad of staying and turning to a yes man for the biggest ego player in history

  16. Kyrie had a horrible finals this past year I believe those boston fans really got to him never seen him that way before on the court, with that said he's a champion has been to 3 or 4 nba finals he's an all time great & a hall of famer

  17. "Ruined" is a bit harsh, especially since he is in a good place now, but i definitely see where you are coming from.

  18. Do you even go outside and play pick up basketball? Because kyrie is what most kids talk about and try to imitate
