I don’t know how the hell we are going to handle it when this guy retires.

Very rarely flashy. Nearly flawless at everything but unnoticeable because it’s so understated.
He’s a Serbian Tim Duncan. Pure fundamentals with a great brain for a team game that unfortunately, still markets itself for flashy stars instead of great players who don’t make the ESPN highlights.
He’s the greatest Nuggets player in franchise history and on track to be the greatest center in NBA history.
However, he will likely leave the NBA before his peak and may not be recognized for the player he is.

He is very unselfish and stoic. For a center (“a big”) he’s regarded as the best passer in NBA history. He’s also dominant enough to become a scorer in the clutch or when 2-3 buckets are needed in consecutive possessions. He has a unique view of the floor, from a full court perspective. About once every 4-5 games he will grab a defensive rebound with one hand and in the same motion pass the ball as a quick outlet to start a fast break or to a teammate near the basket for a score, no dribbles needed, the ball is caught in stride and easily laid in. Last year he was in inbounding the ball from the Memphis bench in Memphis. It was a perfect dart to Aaron Gordon for the dunk. https://youtu.be/N7SjNnxaGfY?si=l2Ioo4XSkobaWiJa

He makes you laugh, off the court with his humour and on the court with his wizardry.

He plays like a water polo player.
He sucks everything in like a black hole, offensively, then spits it back out

He has a reputation of not caring and not working hard, just showing up and being immensely talented without trying, but that’s not actually true, he is incredibly hardworking and he does care, he just doesn’t act performative about it like some players do

He is a lion among wolves. In the face of cold power, he is fire. When you look into the place where you dare not look, Joker is there staring back at you.
How would, I say, mine eyes be blessèd made
By looking on Joker in the living day,
When in dead night, Jokers fair imperfect shade
Through heavy sleep on sightless eyes, doth stay!
All days are nights to see till I see Nikola Jokic,
And nights bright days when dreams do show the Nuggets.

Think of the best person you know. The one you admire the most. Then imagine all of those positive qualities translated into basketball. Now give them the DNA of a Serbian racehorse and the smile of an angel.

A man amongst boys. He literally does everything and you’ll often find that the Nuggs game-to-game success really depends on how much he’s willing to/can do, unfortunately.
He pretty much excels at all fundamentals but his 3-point game has been off within the past year and his defense in the post falls pretty short. Can’t do it all otherwise he’d be the perfect player 🤷🏽♂️
All in all, he can pretty much do anything he wants, whenever he wants. He’s the best basketball player in the world right now for that reason. 🇷🇸

He’s one of the most exciting and awe inspiring players in recent memory for the reasons that many other comments have already covered.
That being said, he’s one of the most polarizing players outside of the Denver market because of his physique, demeanor and (to a large degree) ethnicity.
I live in Northern California and have to hear Warriors fans say stuff like ‘It looks like he’s playing basketball in flip flops’ which equal parts true/hilarious/disrespectful.

He is the Kwisatz Haderach. Some call him Lisan al-Gaib, The Voice From The Outer World. I call him ‘My Duke’ and I would lay down my life if he asked.

He’s my daughter’s favorite person in the world and I’m not even mad about it so that says a lot.

Definition of Efficient and Effective. A top 1-5 offensive player ever, a top 1-5 passer ever. A player that has an argument to be the best scorer, passer and playmaker at the same time. Only Lebron has ever had such argument. Don’t forget, an elite rebounder on both ends of the floor. Jokic is massively underrated as a scorer by casual fans, cus he’s not the one to cranck up his volume in the regular season, instead he has good volume and crazy efficiency. Arguably the best playoffs scorer too currently. Solid defender, has his flaws, but like thinking basketball said 4 years ago before Jokic’s peak, “he just has to thread water on that end, cus he’s on sage level on offense”
