Grant Williams pulled a valuable Luka Dončić basketball card today — “someone offered me 300k already, another 250k, another 500k […] I gotta give Luka first right to refusal, just cause he would buy this for 1 million I bet … I facetimed him twice, he didn’t pick up. He’s in Slovenia right now”

says he pulled it from a $10k National Treasures box, and is currently getting it graded by PSA.

he did an interview about it with Darren Rovell — said it was his first day ever collecting basketball cards:

  4. Sorry_Peanut3907

10.5k on some basketball cards is truly wild.

Bruh spending 10k on a pack of cards is fucking wild.

This is just lootbox/gambling shit can we not?

Actually getting a card that could get you your money back is probably like 1/20 when ripping Panini products, if that, and of course he says he’s about to go buy more at the end of the video. Grant’s a true degenerate gambler – he just like me frfr

Every time I FaceTime my girl she in Slovenia too wtf

  14. Is he blowing smoke or are basketball cards of current players really going for 300k?

  15. CurrentWait9744

I like how genuinely happy he is about the find.

I like this dude. I wish he worked out a bit better in Dallas.

this is nonsense. imagine somebody made collectible cards of all you and your coworkers. would you spend even $50 on a particularly rare card of yourself?

  18. Laszlo-Panaflex

I’d imagine there’s a lot of extra value in owning that Luka card that was pulled by Grant Williams. There’s only 1.

  19. ThatFunkyOdor

I’m not interested in card collecting/trading but I enjoy it when somebody seems genuinely happy talking about something they are passionate about.

Respect to Grant Williams being a Pokémon collector. Seems chill like Tyrese Haliburton with his wrestling love and Myles Turner with legos. Even though these dudes are professional athletes their hobbies make them seem friendly and like regular dudes (besides the money they can spend) lol

  21. Ru4pigsizedelephants

Luka already sold Grant Williams. He ain’t buying shit from him.

  22. Cambocant

Luka rolling over at 4 AM to look at his phone “oh fuck no” 😴

  23. quietwhiskey

Why are people shitting on Williams so much here lol, is he annoying or bad teammate or something?

Card collecting in general is a huge hobby and isn’t cheap. I remember buying a pack for $3 as a kid hoping to pull an MJ, Kobe, or Tim Duncan. Now it’s about $20 a pack and they have a million variants of the same card. Toss in the fact that breakers (bozos that sell chances to get a certain team when opening a box) have causes priced to be inflated, and you have a recipe for these $10.5k boxes.

I enjoy the hobby and like opening packs with my son but it’s become very tough to justify.

That said, it’s cool to see an NBA player geek out like that. Good for him.

  25. JabezMakaveli

Damn maybe I should start collecting basketball cards

  26. gutsxcasca

That’s crazy, It reminds me of the time Post Malone bought an MTG card for like $2 million I think.

  27. destaquese

Hmmm, Mike Trout just pulled his OWN card in the first pack he opened recently. Something smells fishy.

It’s like this weird money circle that only exists for the rich… so cool 😎
