I think everybody want Koloko back on the Roster. It would be a Feel Good Story
I know your philosophy is draft assets and build through draft which I mostly agree with but feel you need to trade to help reset and develop too. This is a big trade but I believe makes all 3 teams better when they need to be. Raptors both short and long, Nets long term and Lakers Now or more specifically 2025 playoffs.
Toronto sends Bruce B to LA, Chris B to Nets + P 2026 Indy + P 2026 second + P 2030 second = Toronto gets Cam Johnson + Rui Hach + Nets P 2026 second + LA P 2027 second + LA P 2030 second
Lakers receive : Bruce B + Dennis S + P 2029 NYK lakers send Rui H and seconds to us above + D’Angelo R + Cam Reddish + LA P 2029 first.
Nets receive D’Angelo R + Chris B + Cam R (All expire and gives $70mil in cap next year with Ben S off books) P 2026 Indy first + P2026 raps second + LA 2029 first + raps 2030 second.
Why Nets they are loading up on Cap Space and Picks for full rebuild. The players they are sending won’t be good when they have a chance in 4-5 years.
Why Lakers they move money and players that don’t defend well. Bruce and Dennis can play well off better stars and support playoff run. Dennis had very good years with LA and can be more reliable in playoffs. He is also more of a facilitator than D’A Russel. Bruce can be that 1-3 Swiss Army knife on both sides of the ball and even though LA gives up their 29 first which could be very valuable they get back NYK’s which should still be in the mid 20s and gives Nets a very likely win of the pick swaps.
Why Raps we move 2 players and $33 mil that don’t fit long term we need Forward and C depth and this still keep one C spot open is CK or BF needs to be signed for C depth. Rui is an offensive upgrade over Chris and Cam can add 3/D depth at SF. We have a lot of younger players that need positive development minutes not just go out there and get killed. This also lets RJ play SG and we can use Gradey and Ja’Kobe as they develop into unknown roles right now. This helps John M get lots of 905 mins to learn system and reduces players playing out of position.
