We have a strong contender right now! If we start Thybulle at the 2, scoot and sharpe off the bench would give us the most talented bench in the league. Deni is the only piece we were missing and he will easily break our single season triple double record.
Why start Thybulle? Because Grant plays like a SG on offense. We don’t need a traditional SG with Ant & Grant; we need a 3 and D wing, IE: Thybulle. Deni being a Point Forward gives us the 3rd primary ball handler; we don’t need a 4th. Deni being second best rebounding wing in the league solves that issue for our starters. We have a complete team; solid starters, talented bench, and depth. We are a legit contender right now.
You're take on Ayton is completely false. He was the reason the Blazers were even watchable last year at the end of the season. The team was more competitive when Ayton played. Clingan didn't get drafted to be Ayton's replacement. Clingan is not a NBA level starter

Clingan & Gobert comparisons are lazy. Only similarities are they'll exceed in drop coverage. Cling-Kong has an evolving offensive game in ways Gobert will never.
