I don't see many people congratulating France for having resisted the USA undefeated for 8 Olympics.
Even though it was at home, I remind you that in Tokyo, France was also in the finals for both women and men in basketball.
France in volleyball, for men won in Tokyo and Paris. France in handball won for men and women in Tokyo, final for women in Paris. (the men have won 3 times and one final in the last 5 Olympics).
France in football remains on 2 World Cup finals, a semi-final at the Euro and a final of the Olympics. France in Judo won as a team in Tokyo and Paris. France in rugby 7s won in Paris. France in basketball x3 lost by 1 point in the final in Paris.
France is not the best sporting nation we all agree but it is the best nation in the world in team sports.

As an American I applaud France and have great sympathy for Gabby Williams. USA/Reeves are not as dominant as America thought—- this was lost by half a foot. More cheers here for the French team — they played their hearts out.
