It’s going to be a 2 man race but waaaaay closer IMO. Team defense matters a ton for this race and I doubt Minnesota will fall off very far. Vic probably wins but it’ll be a fairly close race.

These awards are narrative based. The Gobert narrative has fallen off after the playoffs and Olympics. If Wemby performs similarly to what he did as a rookie, he’ll get it this time.

100% it’s going to be Wemby, but not a single one of the experts said Derrick White? Slander upon the Buffalo

Imo I think our record was only reason Wemby didn’t get it. Gobert should not get it considering how exposed he is every playoffs, whereas so far Wemby hasn’t shown that same weakness on perimeter to any level where teams intentionally run plays to attack him.
Wolves were like 3 ppg worse without Gobert, meaning they had very good team defense, whereas spurs were like 12+ ppg worse without Victor on the floor.
If spurs are winning 30+ games I think Wemby takes it in a close race but if they are anywhere near 35+, especially play in, he takes it easily over Gobert. Barring any other defender like Adebayo, AD having a career year on defense of course
