Mo Dakhil: “If you’re gonna put this whole ‘Heat Culture’ shit out there on your floor and say you’re the roughest, toughest, whatever that you have on your floor, you gotta be that in the regular season as well.”

I have another team that I’ll put out there that probably has something to prove: it’s the Miami Heat. This is a big season for them…

The regular season has to matter to them. They aren’t good enough [for it not to matter]. They thought they could do it like the season before where they skated in through the Play-In Tournament then made it into the Finals. It bit them in the ass. I think for them, they actually have to care this season…

    Not incorrect.

The east is too good for them to coast by and to expect to be top 6.

Though I think Pat Riley knows this considering not so subtle public jabs at Jimmy.

I mean they had like half of their team dead for Game 1 of the playoffs

The Heat went to the finals twice as pretty big underdogs over the past 5 seasons. I don’t think this core has much else to prove. They showed you can be successful without doing a lot in the regular season.

The Heat are one superstar away from being a serious contender, and also entertaining team.

I would’ve liked to see Kawhi or PG go there.

The clippers are done for, not sure why Kawhi is still there. I guess LA is his home

The idea that the Heat intentionally turn up the gas in the playoffs is pretty wild. You’re telling me that they’re comfortable making the play-in, losing a play-in game, going down in the second one, and THEN decide to flip the switch? That was the plan?

It gotta start with Jimmy. If he doesn’t care about the regular season, then the whole team will follow suit.

No it’s a legit thing. No one outside of Miami expected one let alone two very impressive finals runs. The problem last year is they were entirely injured. I will never discount the Heat

  8. Didn’t they go to the finals like 3/5 years with nobodies?

  9. They’ve been to the finals multiple times since 2020, and also lost in a game 7 in a ECF, why are people talking shit

Mo is absolutely right, and you know who knows this to be true more than anyone? Pat Riley.

Hence his public criticism of Butler. The Heat brass and players alike believe in their roster. Not just the culture but they believe in their roster and they do believe they can compete with the best.

Well…it’s not enough to talk about it. The players absolutely have to go out there and operate like so throughout the whole year. And as said by u/Heat_Prodigy….it starts with Jimmy.

  11. the truth is, even if they were and might actually be taking the regular season serious, they are still middle of the pack in the east. saying they sandbag in the regular season is just a excuse for who they really are. all credit to them for the finals run though.

The regular season is for Spo to be tinkering

Jimmy Butler treats his NBA career as a part time job, and goes on a bunch of quests in the offseason/regular season. When it’s time for Jimmy to show up he hasn’t lately
