For me it’s Courtney Lee. Promising rookie, was one layup away from taking game 2* (I originally said game 1) of the finals for us, only to be traded away for Vince Carter…

Bamba.
But it depends on how we want to define this.
Fran didn’t even try.
Bamba had the best tools, but just didn’t have “it”
Markelle was a #1 pick with tons of potential before the injury just derailed him.

This should’ve been where Grant Hill was placed d/t the injuries and what could’ve been with him and Tmac.. so instead I’ll go with Victor Oladipo. Hindsight is 20/20 but we gave up on the 2nd overall pick while he was on a rookie contract and he developed into an All Star. Idk if he does that had he stayed in Orlando, but trading him AND Sabonis for what ultimately ended up being Terrance Ross is just a huge waste of an asset.

Mario Hezonja. He had everything he needed to become a superstar, except for basketball IQ.

Mo Bamba. Despite having NBA level skills, he clearly doesn’t like basketball.

Man, this is a tough one!
Fran Vazquez was supposed to be amazing, but never even suited up for us.
Mario Hezonja had a lot of tools, but never put it all together.
Mike Miller was a solid player, even the rookie of the year, but never became great.
But the one that stands out to me would be Mo Bamba, that guy could really have been a second coming of Dwight. But he never ”got it”. A shame really.

Mo Bamba. High draft pick. Had his own song upon coming into the league (this has to count for something, right?). IIRC, was seen as a likely upgrade to Vucevic at the time. When healthy, would show flashes, but then regressed back, multiple times during his career here, despite opportunities. Little to no motor. Knew his strengths, but never really augmented them. Never seen to address his weaknesses.
Mo Bamba.

Bamba or Bol Bol?
Potential Wemby Stoppers?
I was going to mention Gordon, but he got plenty of opportunities here.
Regardless, there’s probably some recency bias here
