Solid breakdown of the Spurs roster centered around Wemby and the big off-season moves. My biggest takeaway from this story and most other off-season takes are that, outside of CP3 and Barnes, the Spurs are young and inexperienced and will go as far as Wemby takes them. Most likely falling short of the play-in.
I like the article because it provokes discussion in this very dead time of year.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say we at least make the play in. Whatever happens afterwards is a welcomed bonus. Wishful thinking, but if this happens AND the Hawks suck, it’s like winning 100 lotteries at once.

It’s a blessing and a curse having national attention. These pundits have no clue the intricacies of what is happening.

Last season people thought okc would he better but no one picked them to be top seed in west
The difference between the Spurs winning 30s next year and playin is not that big a difference.
It really depends on how well Harrison and CP3 blend in and lift the team and improvements in young players
A small difference will result in close win vs close loss, and then confidence from winning lifts team play which results in more wins
I would not be surprised either way, plus injuries are key to a teams success or failure

I hope the Spurs can be competitive but miss the playoffs. Maybe mid 30s wins. With some lottery luck maybe can pick in the late top 10. 2025 should be a better draft to add a kid who can make an impact.

One of the interesting things to me that indicates the potential improvement is that the Spurs kept their top 8 players in minutes, but brought in 2 guys who will be top 6 in the rotation. Tre guys from from 3 in minutes and is replaced by FHoF CP3(69) And Barnes is a very stabilizing addition, which helps not lose leads. I would not at all be surprised by a playin bid around.500.

What teams are we projecting to be worse than us in the West. I would probably spontaneously combust if we made the playoffs be the West looks like a blood bath with about 12 or 13 teams looking to compete.

Yall delusional we aren’t making the playoffs this year.
