I don't think our outlook is bad. I just feel there is a bit too much unfinished business and unanswered questions surrounding the team. The faster we take care of that business and get those questions answered, the better. Besides Vuc because he plays a singular role on the team…a center…I honestly want every single "vet" off this team. Zach, 'Zo, Craig, Leroy. And if not off the team their roles reduced to spot minutes. This is not possible with Zach, of course. With 'Zo? I think next season thats best case scenario if he's at all viable. Craig and Leroy? I don't care if they sit out the season. I want this rebuild to be proper, not half arse. We have young talent on the team and it should be prioritized next season at all cost, win or lose. These guys need to PLAY real minutes. Giddey, Coby, PW, Ayo, Smith, Terry, Matas, Philips. Bitim if he makes the cut. We gotta get Sanogo up for some work, and Big Boy Lofton if he's a viable two way guy. Get him on a better diet, too. But every minute we waste with Zach, 'Zo, Craig, and Leroy is a minute taken from the development of our new "young core." We gotta use and play our vets wisely and not to rescue our youth if they falter or to get a few cheap wins. We already got rid of the two main vets that carried us in clutch games and into play in team contention. We need no more of that nonsense at any level. Zach is a BIG issue. 'Zo is an issue. Craig and Leroy. We'll see about Duarte. We need to finish cleaning house. That doesn't have to mean ridding ourselves of these guys immediately. Thats not possible. But it should be in the works and all but Zach should have near non existent playing roles on the team. So far as being surprisingly good THIS season and losing our pick? I don't like it. Not if "surprisingly good" means an 8-9-10th place play in spot. In that case all the more reason to throw in the towel and keep our pick to add even more young talent to a promising young team. Cooper Flagg? Idc. Him or somebody else. Lets just not be stupid. We shock the world and are a steady and rising 6-7th seed at the break? We'll look at that and see if it makes sense to proceed upward. Anything less? I say it's a race to 11-12-13th, etc. Keep our pick…talk about "winning" come '25-'26.
