Facundo Campazzo says he was heckled by rappers sitting courtside at NBA games

“I had to defend Stephen Curry and Trae Young… there were these rappers sitting in the front row. They were saying to him, ‘Attack him, he can't defend you! Look, look, he doesn't know how to defend!’… And I was thinking, ‘Please don't attack me!… Or don't fall so you don't end up in the top 10 of the week.’ And it was the same when I was defending Curry. Draymond would come up to me and say, ‘No matter how you defend him, he's going to score 30 points on you, so ask your coach to switch you out.’”

How does he know if they’re rappers?

    Edit: Hook and bait.

    Isn’t he 5 foot 9. I mean folks, where’s the lie?

Campazzo is a bitch, one of my least favorite players of all time.

    Oh no heckling! The horror!

Also every black person sitting court side must be a rapper

  5. Since it’s in a different language I can’t tell if he’s saying this in a self-deprecating Jeff Teague sort of way, but I have a feeling he is. Saying something like “no! please don’t attack me on defense!” is a little too ridiculous to not be a joke.

Also not sure I agree with people saying there are racial undertones to the rapper part. He might’ve just recognized Lil Wayne or Snoop or E-40 if it was a Warriors home game. Those guys kinda stand out.

My respect for Argentinians ain’t to high the blatant casual racism most of them spout. Made evident to the world through the soccer debacle but it’s been an ongoing problem for decades.

Keep in mind in Spanish culture its normal and not at all offensive to generalize a person by the way they look or what subculture you fit into. People call themselves “rockeros” “emos” “reggaetoneros”. Not because they are of a certain race, but because they fit that subculture in the way they look, etc.

So “rapero” doesnt necessarily mean you are judging a person to be a rapper. But just that you are dressed and fit a certain subculture.
The intention is not to be demeaning and calling someone a rapero if the look the part, regardless of if they have any ability to rap, is actually a compliment, not offensive.

This is hilarious. I can’t imagine being in his shoes from Argentina and hearing the Migos shit talk him while he guards Trey Young.

    Imagine Quavo chirping you courtside

I can’t believe that the Blazers got smacked by Campazzo and the Nuggets.

I like the Draymond quote. Planting seeds of doubt. Nice.

We only ever heard of Migos in Argentina because they tried to act as if they were bigger than legendary group Bone Thugs. Noone even knows their faces here 🤣
