I know they’ve been around for a bit but the LARP nerd in me absolutely loves seeing professional sports organizations using boffer weapons in practice.

For those of you who haven’t seen footage of NBA players practicing against guys wielding long sticks, they do it so the defenders are slower (since they’re running around carrying unwieldy objects) which makes the nba players play better and thus gives them confidence so that when they play real games they’re full of self-assurance and better able to compete. Trust me.
