Klay Thompson is a chaos agent.
What I mean by that is he is someone the defense always needs to pay attention to, whether off a broken play, and offensive rebound, or in transition, because he can easily burn them once they make a mistake. Constant movement and a great understanding of spacing means defenses have to pay attention to a moving target that could be found at any time by one of the best playmakers in the league.
In the finals, two of our biggest issues was the inability to force any rotations out of the Celtics defense and the inability to score in transition. Luka and Kyrie are incredible advantage creators, but with our PnR game neutralized, our pick and pop game being very weak, and lateral action not being possible with THJ, both had to play hero ball just for the Mavs to score (Luka was hurt and Kyrie was in his own head so even that couldn't save us).
This is where Klay comes in. Not only is he a great floor spacer anywhere on the court, he's an actual pick and pop threat, can be used in lateral action, is a threat in transition, and can punish mistakes the defense makes. Here's 12 minutes of Klay taking advantage of bad transition defense, broken plays, offensive rebounds, and defenders falling asleep.
