The Atlanta Hawks Rebuild Has Begun | 2024-25 Season Preview
After trading Dejounte Murray this offseason, the Hawks seems to be shifting more towards youth and development than pushing for a playoff berth. Hawks CEO Steve Koonin was asked about the team this week, and his answer paints an interesting picture about the direction of the team: “I think we’re going to be long, we’re going to be athletic, we’re gonna be very young, and I think this team is gonna be an incredible amount of fun,” Koonin said on August 30. “And there’s a good chance Trae Young is our oldest starter at 26 years old.” After trading Dejounte Murray, the team could now be moving away from Clint Capela (30), Bogdan Bogdanovic (32), and DeAndre Hunter (26). The team is now centered around Trae Young and young pieces around him like Jalen Johnson, Zaccharie Risacher and Dyson Daniels. This team will be fun and very fast, but I’m not sure they’ll be at the same level as in years past. Let me know your thoughts!!!
