Spurs Jeremy Sochan Liability Or Cornerstone?

Spurs Jeremy Sochan Liability Or Cornerstone?

The San Antonio Spurs Tried the Jeremy Sochan point guard experiment and didn’t quite workout but he is still a pop type of guy and someone that can be a big piece for now and the future. Sochan has his flaws and needs continue growth and experience but can truly be a big piece going forward.

  1. Sochan is just a common role player who is not as important as Wemby, Vassel, Castle (maybe). If he cannot reach the standard, just change a starting PF.

  2. I shouldn't think like this, but they left Jalen Williams on the board in 2022. Hopefully, Sochan develops.

  3. He isn’t a liability. People forget he was the Spurs’ best player at the latter part of his rookie season. He was put in an impossible position the following year, getting him to play point guard. Put him back to his sweet spot, and he will contribute like what he did in year 1.

  4. You watch…Pop will eventually have a VW-Sochan-Castle-Vassell-CP3 lockdown defense (but still offense) in crunch time. That will turn those 20 games they lost while going into the 4Q leading, into wins that = 45+ wins this year and a play-in spot.

  5. Sochan is a slightly quicker Kyle Anderson. He is versatile but doesn't really excel at anything. Versatility is necessary for championship teams but not as cornerstones. He is worth 10-12 million a year. Any more is a waste on a role player.

  6. He's a diamond in the rough. Very versatile, if he is disciplined and puts in the work, he can be a monster in a few years. Spurs can literally dominate the entire league with Wemby, Vassell, Sochan and Castle. Spurs will build a dynasty!

  7. He defends, rebounds, passes, and scores when he's open. More than that, he's an irritant. He's the player you don't necessarily want on your team, but you definitely don't want him on the other team. Boris is the perfect comparison. Boris couldn't find minutes on the worst team in NBA history (11-12 Bobcats) and on the Spurs nearly won Finals MVP.
