Also, Kobe got to the point where like anyone else team defenses were geared towards trying to slow him down. He would beat the first guy and two more would get there just to shade him. Hence why he had so many counters. Being skillful doesn’t mean you weren’t athletic or not physically gifted
Kobe first two years was based on athleticism, especially the rookie year. Thats why the fans wanted him in the dunk contest cause of his highlights and that’s what got him into the all star game his second year. He was crossing and dunking on dudes, then everything else’s developed for him.
