If you think this Dallas team is getting a ring with the current teamscape your delusional

Did I imagine they were just in the finals? Klay went there because they pursued him and made him feel wanted in all liklihood

Why not? Three generational talents on a well-run team with a good coach and a franchise with a history of getting the most out of good players? Yes, they all have flaws. Klay is getting older; Luka doesn’t stay in shape; Kyrie is always on the verge of quitting basketball and starting a podcast with Vladimir Putin…but they could turn out to be great!

he wants to start

Klay was probably salty that he wasn’t he Warriors priority in the off season and decided to leave. Honestly can’t blame the Warriors looking for a star player first before dealing with Klay. They paid him top dollars for 2.5 years during his rehab. And Klay can win 7 rings and it wouldn’t matter, he will still be around top 40-50 ranked.

What is going to happen the first time Kidd asks him to set a real screen?

As presently constructed, the Mavericks are a better team than the Warriors. He also gets a guaranteed starting position. Whether he wins a ring is another thing, but he’s in a better position to do so on his own terms.

Nephew he’s got a better shot either way Dallas than the dubs. Dude slots in that team beautifully and doesn’t have to carry the offense when like he did when Steph sat.

Fact is, he was getting too old for the warriors style of offense. He might thrive in Dallas standing in the corner for threes and using his energy in spurts, as opposed to running around looking to huck up off balanced shots. I wish him the best. Dallas D might be an issue.

I mean yes? Isn’t every player trying to do that? Especially someone with Klay’s resume, it makes sense Dallas would want him.
It’ll be interesting to see how it all fits together and what Klay’s role will be with the Mavs. Klay ultimately was not a fan of coming off the bench and still fancies himself a starter. So does a starting five that includes Klay, Kyrie, and Luka have enough defense? Plus how will Klay adjust to being a guy that stands in the corner and waits for the three. Also if he hits a rough patch or has an off couple weeks of shooting, will the Dallas fans give him the leash that Dubs fans did?
I 100% get and can appreciate why Klay left. Hated to see him go but I get it. Hoping he finds what he was looking for in Dallas.

That defense gonna get cooked

Kerr was talking about Klay excepting his role as an aging player coming off the bench, I think Klay ultimately wants to start, and with his aging, and injured body is no longer the force that he once was, and can’t with the warriors anymore. Going to Dallas gives him the opportunity to be a catch a shoot option with Kyrie, and Luca drawing defense. I’m excited to watch him play with Dallas. I hope that he can make another run, it would be awesome to see Luca win a chip too.
