Windhorst/Hoop Collective Has Cavs 7th in EC Tier List

The Windhorst/Hoop Collective podcast did a discussion on Eastern Conference playoff tiers and put the Celtics in Tier 1 / Knicks/76ers / Bucks in Tier 2 / Magic /Pacers (and finally Cavs) in Tier 3.

Seems low to me..I see the Cavs beating the Bucks / Magic / Pacers in the playoffs with their current roster especially if Atkinson ends up being an upgrade. (TBD)

Where do you guys have the cavs heading into the season?

I’d say that’s about right barring a major offensive leap from mobley

  2. Based on last season, I agree, we are tier 3. But if our players improve and Kenny proves to be a better coach, I can see we being the worse from tier 2

Isn’t the entire idea of doing tiers to avoid clear rankings like saying we are 7th in the East?

I’d pretty much agree with these tiers though

I really believe Atkinson is going to get a ton more out of this current roster. JB was great at calming the disaster of the Belein hire and implementing a solid system but the team was just flat & stagnant the past year & the core was regressing under JB. I think 60 wins is on the table this season

This is the correct assessment of this team. There are delusional people on here that don’t want to admit that making no moves this offseason while other teams got significantly better will have no effect because “the Sixers are injury prone” or “the Bucks are old” or “Knicks will get run to the ground” but this is just massive copium and show no understanding how the league runs.

You know who you guys are. Suck it up, we’ll be lucky to avoid the play-in this year.

Lmao this thread is a doomer paradise. Keeping that chamber nice and echoey.

Anybody that thinks a healthy Cavs team is better than a healthy Bucks team is delusional. Unless Mobley is a lot stronger or Allen becomes a lot more physical, the Cavaliers have no answer for Giannis.

  8. Looks about right to me. Somewhere in the 5-7 range, most likely 1st round road loss, with a chance to upset into the 2nd round.
