since we're all bored awaiting the start of the 24-25 season, who are your top 5 all-time favorite Knicks? nothing relating to skill or longevity, just your personal favorites for any reason – this can include coaches / staff as well.

Ewing, Melo, Houston, Brunson, Starks
Is my personal top 5 list, not in order
1: Patrick Ewing
2: Jalen Brunson (it’s still early but damn he’s good)
3: Allan Houston
4: Clyde
5: Carmelo Anthony
It’s hard so I have another 5 to round out 10.
6: Latrell Sprewell
7: Willis Reed
8: Larry Johnson
9: John Starks
10: Stephon Marbury ( probably cracks my top 10 solely because I met the guy and he’s incredibly nice, wish we got him at a different time)
1. Carmelo Anthony
2. Jalen Brunson
3. RJ Barrett
4. Walt Frazier
5. Patrick Ewing
No order
Brunson
Ewing
Melo
JR Smith
Randle
No particular order: Clyde, Ewing, Mason, Oakley, and I know I’ll get flak for this one but he’s my homeboy from the Dayton Flyers and the reason I got back into the pro game – Obi Toppin.
totally forgot to add mine – no order:
Oakley, Ewing, King, Brunson, Starks
it’s tough so here’s 6-10:
Mason, Melo, Fraizer, LJ, Randle
Houston, Melo, Ewing, Brunson, Jamal Crawford
This could change at any point but this is where I’m at
Houston, Melo, Ewing, Brunson, Jamal Crawford
This could change at any point but this is where I’m at
THE dunk.
Mase running the break.
Capt. Brunson
Oak
LJ 4 point play.
And Big Pat to rule them all.
Got a feeling as we see deeper and longer playoff runs Josh Hart is gonna be dear to our hearts. Put him in any lineup with any players and good stuff happens
My all time top 5 or 12?
My personal 5 (in no order):
Melo, Ewing, Randle, Houston, Clyde
I’m not putting in my favorites until I see a Jeremy Lin slide added.
Houston, starks, Brunson, Ewing, LJ
No Sprewell?
David Lee – Clydes “Leebounds” calls always got me hyped
Stat – The feeling when he first signed in NY was true hope like I hadn’t seen in my lifetime
Melo – Maybe the most skilled offensive player to ever put on the uniform – so fun to watch him cook people
Ewing – He’s just exactly what I think about when someone says NY Knicks
Brunson – The new King of NY of course!
1.) Ewing – The Ewing rookie card I’ve had since the 5th grade is my most prized possession. Took a lot of chores around the neighborhood, change collecting and bottle returning to save up for that. He is my all-time favorite NBA player hands down.
2.) Walt Frazier – I honestly never knew him as a player outside his amazing highlight reels, but his announcer style, ability and status alone puts him as my 2nd all time favorite legend.
3.) David Lee – One of the most criminally under appreciated players in the league during his time in my opinion. Solid in both offense and defense he was able to control the floor and be a teams anchor in both. I was so happy he got a ring with GS and got some recognition for his talents.
4.) Jalen Brunson – When was the last time you thought to yourself they could take anyone in the league on any given night? His attitude and play level speak for themselves. But he’s reenergized the fanbase. I had friends who don’t follow NBA outside of headlines talking to me about the Knicks and getting really into the games when they’d sit down and watch. And Brunson was who they were excited to watch. Looking forward to the future with him at the helm.
5.) Tie between Mason/Oakley/Starks – the era I grew up as a kid watching. There is no Knicks team without these three when I reminisce about my young fandom days and watching the games with my dad (him sneaking me out of bed to watch the west coast playoff games without my mom knowing).
Honorable Mentions – Julius Randle; I don’t think the franchise would be were it is today without him. I wish there was a way to have kept him.
Dave DeBusschere – he was my grandpas favorite player, and actually caught a game jersey when thrown into the crowd once. That jersey is framed and has been with me since he passed.
Houston, David Lee, Brunson, Randle, Nate Robinson
Ewing, Brunson, Starks, Houston, Oakley
Ewing
Brunson
Starks
Reed
Frazier
1- Ewing – the GOAT
2- Sprewell – he was fucking cool as hell to watch on the court. Loved the passion he played with.
3- Brunson – and climbing
4- Houston – game 5 vs Miami and game 6 vs Indy in ‘99 make him a legend in my book even tho he got an albatross contract a couple years later.
5- Lin (okay this one is whacky but damn the amount of joy he provided in those few weeks was unforgettable)
1. Ewing
2. Carmelo
3. Marbury (wild pick. but he got me into watching the knicks)
4. David Lee (double double machine)
5. JR Smith
Ewing, Oakley, Houston, Sprewell, Brunson
Miles “Deuce” McBride (I’m a WVU fan and I’ve followed him wver since)
