I really don't understand the NBA cap. We aren't paying anyone big money. I mean Keldon makes less than 20 per, and Vassel is just over 20 per. So how do we not have space. Yet the Lakers or Warriors seemingly have an infinite amount.

It's not that big a deal NOW that some key extensions (like Lauri and Steph's) have been signed. The big 2025 FAs at the moment are LeBron (yawn) and Jimmy Butler. But, Steph and Markkanen were going to be in there previously, which could have shaken up the entire league. Especially when guys like Aaron Gordon and Kyrie have player options.
I think there's a lot of wanna be pundits that also keep track of cap space because of things like "what if a guy like Luka tries to force his way out? You're gonna have to pay him!" …. and completely whiff on the fact that you need matching salaries in trades…
you try to reach as much to always include sochan in their long term vision. to me, the definite is victor and victor only. maybe stephon castle as well. but sochan, vassell and johnson are not untouchables. you cant hide it but your bias towards sochan is so obvious. dude cant shoot, defense is quite overrated. can't handle the ball and not even strong enough to play a small ball 4 to compensate his lack of size.

Duncan was not sold on staying with the Spurs after the '99 championship. Had the Spurs not stepped up and offered Tim everything he wanted and laid out the plan for a winning team behind him, Duncan would have left. I remember the media constantly wringing their hands over it. Fans were like, 'Duncan's great but he wants too much'.' And David was making it worse, talking about sacrifice being the right thing to do. I feel like the same thing is happening now, even before we get to the first championship. Spurs just need to suck it up, admit that they have to empty their wallets and include Wemby on their plans. It's up to Brian Wright to make it happen.

Yeah. Barnes is probably gone by the trade deadline or next season max. He's average or good at best and simply not worth his salary. He's there cause he's a "vet".
With this new apron it’s going to be hard for a lot of teams to keep good players with out them taking a cut.
Clan cap is a problem for setting up a dynasty. The cap promotes parity in the league, not good GM and keeping a team together.

Mamu BETTER stick around and tbh he should probably start over harrison barnes because he is a more active team defender (both struggle on ball), only a slightly worse shooter, and literally eclipses Barnes in terms of playmaking, off-ball movement, and chemistry with Wemby, he is also a rebounding MACHINE and idk why he doesn't get more PT
