Wade not only put up his second-most career points in a game with 50 but also stamped his name into the Heat record books as the franchise’s all-time leading scorer.

Dwyane Wade’s day was record-setting, and he was only part of an unforgettable afternoon for the Miami Heat. Wade finished with 50 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists, Jermaine O’Neal added 28 points and the Heat pulled off two last-ditch rallies Saturday before beating the Utah Jazz in triple-overtime, 140-129, in Miami.

Wade tied his career high in points and passed Alonzo Mourning to become Miami’s career scoring leader. Mario Chalmers scored 23 points for Miami, which moved seven games over .500 (36-29), a season best. The Heat also pulled to one and a half games behind Atlanta for fourth place in the Eastern Conference. Deron Williams scored 30 points and had 13 assists for the Jazz, which also got a season-high 25 points from Kyle Korver. Carlos Boozer finished with 20 points and 13 rebounds.

The Heat erased a 7-point deficit in the final 55 seconds of regulation, then gave up the first 8 points in the first overtime before roaring back. The score was tied five times in the second overtime, and the Heat took control in the third, outscoring Utah by 15-4.
