  1. There's definitely been some talk about an eventual consolidation trade among Pacers fans.

I was personally stricken with grief when I saw Deni Avdija get moved – I had no idea he was even available but he would have been perfect as the 3 on the Pacers. I think they need an upgrade at small forward (I love Nesmith, but he's still out of position), but there isn't a clear trade right now. The Pacers are really banking on make-or-break years for both Mathurin and Walker.

I wouldn't be surprised if the consolidation trade ends up being Obi Toppin + Mathurin (assuming the FO wants to move on) for Cam Johnson. I don't think either team is thrilled about that trade, but it makes sense for both parties.

The real dream is that the Pelicans can't get off of Brandon Ingram, so they extend them and have to move off of Trey Murphy because they can't afford to re-sign him.

  2. I don't get why the Pacers with Hali as the franchise star and the starting pg for the next decade and with so many young guards next to him and some with size same skills felt the need to overpay this older guy long term when they can develop better younger two way players and pay them going forward instead cause now they have to trade either mathurin nehmard or sheppard i feel since no one else would value tj as much in a trade due to his age alone…they need a true starting 3 and d long sf still imo or a stretch true pf…tj and hali have to be staggered which hurts their value….they still have walker too who won't play now
