Too good to be a tank commander, but too niche to improve a contender smh

So he’s not Demar/Wiggins/Rudy Gay but he’s also not Kevin Durant/Jayson Tatum. He’s somewhere smack dab in the middle

Insider ignoring the fact we were a playoff team last year and still have the flexibility to trade assets at the deadline this year if we’re not ass

Hasn’t this sort of been kicked around for a while?

BI is the sort of player that gets squeezed in this new CBA world, likely doubly so because we are still in the adjustment period where the new dynamics and norms are not set in yet.

He’s not an actual max player in terms of productivity, but he’s also not an ideal #2 for most teams cause of his style of play. At least not for his current price. He is too good to tank with, but not good enough to build a franchise around.

More valuable to the Pelicans prospects than any realistic return.
