This EXACTLY what we Needed…

The Toronto Raptors have taken the steps to rebuild the roster last season and move in a younger direction around Scottie Barnes. The number 31 overall pick in this year’s draft, Jonathan Mogbo, is a crucial piece to this rebuild, and a recent video has shown he’s taken steps to develop the biggest hole in his game. Ben Rogers breaks it down.

  1. I will ALWAYS be looking at philiposkis career tho – very closely – as I think they may have made a big mistake not taking him with that pick. Exactly the type of PF we need right now.

  2. While I would like to see him make jumpers during actual games, if he can hit a layup consistently, catch the ball consistently, and make simple passes, he’ll already be better than Achiuwa offensively.

  3. I believe Mogbo mentioned in an interview that he used to play guard during his younger years, and can drain 3s; but during college he was not allowed to shoot 3s.

  4. I will continue to say he had the potential to be Scottie (lite). They said the same thing about Scottie when he was drafted.

  5. Raptors front court playbook: wing and a prayer lol

But fr tho im pretty hopeful for mogbo but wont be surprised if he still a project this season.

My biggest hope rn is Gradey. I rly hope his game takes a leap this year

  6. JM should look to get a short corner 16-17 footer and then extend out to 3 pointer. If he can play some at C with KO at PF so you get enough size, ball skills and rebounding.

  7. Even in that short clip, the lack of intensity and pace in that run shines through. Hitting shots with no pressure at all is not much to get excited about. It's better than missing them, but this is not an expectations raiser.

  8. Mogbo is a win-win for the Raptors, he'll be a great player and also inspire Scottie to work even harder since it's with his childhood bestfriend.

  9. Mogbo is a top 10 player in this year's draft. The number 1 impact full player in college when he is on the floor. His defensive vs offensive ratings is not far from amazing.
This is a guy you ag to the starting line up to bring everyone together.
