LOL, ignoring the ridiculous no draft assets claim, this dumb trade would cost the Lakers at least three rotation players.

This LaVine trade isn’t going to happen. Let it go, Elsa.

my team’s fan base is braindead 😭😭😭

LaVine is not worth D’lo, Rui, and Vando lmao. We already have 2 somewhat injury prone stars. Adding a 3rd injury prone “star” while gutting our depth would be suicide.

even if you they really did just want to do a salary dump, you still need salary filler to make it work. The Lakers do NOT have useless filler players with enough salary for that to work

  5. Of course it wouldn’t cost draft assets.

But is giving up Rui, Vando and Gabe worth it?

Perhaps, if Vando and Gabe continue to be injury risks.

Basically just both teams shuffling around ineffective uses of ~$40M.

The floor of our trio is much higher, but the ceiling of LaVine is higher. Also the value of opening up roster spots and getting Knecht and Max minutes.

I’d lean towards giving Coach Redick a chance, but if this is looking like yet another Play-In team in February, then it’s worth making a move.

Even ignoring the salary-matching that would be needed, the moment the Lakers reach out to the Bulls, they’d get asked to include draft assets.

No Carushow, no deal. And since Carushow is a Thunder player, Zach can tank

  8. This “NBA exec” is forgetting about the Laker Tax. Any other team would get him for a future 2nd and an old fax machine. The Lakers however would have to give up something ridiculous like Rui, Austin Reaves, and TWO first round picks just to be in the running.

Lavine for Rui, Max and Dlo is a no brainer……buy low on him now.

Gabe Lavine Vando Bron AD is solid as you can get.

Austin Kenect Jhs wood and Jax is fine

If you added Lavine for free, no cap hit or anything, I’m not sure it takes the lakers over the edge

Dlo is a good player, man. He’s fallen off a bit come playoffs but man he’s valuable

  12. Big_Hour_520

I think it’d probably cost them one of Reaves/DLo and one of Vando/Rui.

I think as a fan it’d be Dlo + Rui. Which might actually be worth it.

Honestly I don’t think a deal would get done with the Lakers getting a future FRP from the Bulls. It still a lot of money for any team to swallow (especially or if he gets hurt again). Also it would cost the Lakers 3 rotation players. Hell I doubt it gets done with 2 FRP. The Lakers are attempting to win now, so the assets coming back would need to fill holes quickly.

I would be fine with a D’Lo, Reaves, and Vanderbilt trade for Lavine. Lavine is an upgrade on D’Lo, Reaves can be replaced by Knecht, and Vanderbilt is one-dimensional. Replace Reaves in the starting lineup with Christie, keep Rui, keep Gabe as backup, bring Knecht off the bench. I think that team has higher upside than what the Lakers currently have.

So many “nba execs” always want to make trades on the lakers behalf lol

Just what LA needs, another injury prone star that can’t defend!

  17. rjaysenior

This is a wait for the deadline type of deal. Health is important especially coming off season ending surgery. If lavine can play well for the first half then I’m on board with trading for him since it increases our ceiling (unless we’re rolling with win after win). Unless grant comes with a big I’m more interested in a healthy lavine who could drop 50 bombs if we’re desperate and these are our only 2 options

  18. CabbageStockExchange

Had we learned nothing from the Russ trade?

  19. randompanda687

Lmao no fucking thanks. The salary balancing alone makes it an awful move.

  20. savadonner

Man, same as the last 12 months, WE don’t need this dude, too.expensive and Always hurt

  21. Nickk_Jones

There is no future blockbuster trade coming. Nobody wants anything we have.

  22. Zealousideal-Tea-837

Earlier in the summer I would have done it especially with Bron wiling to take a pay cut so we could have used the MLE another role player

  23. LudwigNasche

I keep my opinion that IF the Bulls send us a first round pick I’d take that deal.
