With the notoriety of Sean Marks's decision to blow up the franchise to make room to sign the big 3 and the trade of Harden for Ben, Jimmy feel he have nothing to loose by thinking he could hook Marks with another foolish deal: acquire him.
Jimmy Butler is probably using Brooklyn as leverage but again he's liked Brooklyn since the Timberwolves days….
But ultimately his age and contract price could hurt Brooklyn's timeline….

In the history of the Nets franchise, the biggest difficulties have been committing to a direction, coach, and roster. Joe Tsai said he wish to pursue a slow rebuild. The Nets have to overcome distractions that'll keep them from doing that.. The availability of stars, like Jimmy, is biggest one.

But having Jimmy on this roster won’t happen nets have picked a direction it’s just internet rumors and lies to stir up stuff cause the nba isn’t on rn Jimmy coming here wouldn’t make sense we are rebuilding Jimmy wouldn’t have a experienced enough roster he wouldn’t have what he has in Miami coming here would only make harder for Jimmy to win a championship now yes Jimmy will leave if Pat Riley don’t make moves to improve and help in the areas of having a reliable consistent and credible superstar next to him
If Jimmy comes here he would go from having Bam to Claxton? Tyler Herro and Terry Rozier to Cam Thomas, Coach Spo one of the greatest coaches ever to a first timer Coach Jordi? Pat Riley to Joe Sai and Sean Marks? Real loyal Heat fans/culture to fake, delusional sensitive nets fans? I mean BK who makes up lies like this on the media for I get we in the off-season but where are the facts to back this stuff up all I hear is lies and rumors and made up stuff Jimmy just went to his Twitter and put a laughing emoji on a fake report about him leaving i mean damn what more proof do ppl need

There is nothing in the Lewis piece that suggests that the Nets are interested in Butler, in fact just the opposite.
