1st of all Durant is nowhere near in the GOAT convo. 2nd of all Why is this posted on a Lakers sub? Lol

  2. bigball3r23

he could be top 10 but people bring up the warriors move whenever u mention him. top 10 ain’t the goat discussion tho

  3. His titles will forever have an asterisk as he joined an already all-time great team. Top 7 is pushing it.

Unfortunately only being a great player isn’t enough to put you in the goat conversation. KD lacks so many intangibles than guys like Lebron, Kobe and mj have

I think Worthy is being a classy and respectful guy as usual, but KD is pretty firmly below that first tier of top 15 players imo. In terms of pure scoring ability sure, but with everything else and when you look at his overall career I don’t see it personally.

    The Hell?

If you want to bring up like Duncan I’ll hear you out but KD do not got the major accolades required in MVPs and Championships.

His legacy is tarnished by tagging along on a Warriors team that had titles before and after his stay.

In the conversation for GOAT offensive player.

I mean KD definitely has the game to be in that convo. However, the fact that he joined a 73-9 team in order to get a ring is what makes people cut him off that convo.

But if we’re strictly talking about game, he has all the tools and beyond. Kobe said it himself, the only player he could not figure out was KD. On the other hand, he has the mental stability of a chihuahua

Can’t join a 73-9 team for a chip and that be a reason you’re in a goat convo. He’s an amazing player, but he himself has not done what MJ/Bron/Kobe/Duncan/Magic/Bird etc have done for a team

  11. Top 7 is nuts but he’s pretty legitimately seen as a top 15ish guy.

He’s the GOAT at recovering from the Achilles tear though. Absolutely ruined expectations for any other player in that area.

MJ, Kareem, Bron, Kobe, Magic above him imo without a doubt. Curry, Bird, Shaq, Wilt, Russell over him too for me.

  13. 1 MVP and 1 Finals Appearance, 0 Titles without a 73 win team that already won a title. HoF for sure, GOAT certainly not

In my opinion, he is barely top 10 in his career accolades and legacy. If he won 1 in OKC he would definitely in the same breath of Hakeem for sure. In terms of talent, he is definitely better than Bird (no disrespect meant), he will do what Bird does in boston in 90s for sure.

The problem with these goat convos is there’s never any consistent criteria. Worthy is obviously going off of mostly pure talent which not many would put Durant below top 5

“He doesn’t get talked about enough” 🧢

Idk, I’d put him in my top 10 but that’s just me I guess lol

  19. I would argue top 3 as far as the greatest talent/scorer ever

First ballot HOF. Top 7 in forwards for sure but wished he did more as the alpha. That BK run is understated
    Edit for clarification

I don’t usually disagree with worthy, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt on this one
