DC Franchise Grid (Day 8)

Alas, Agent Zero could not sweep the row. Wall got the top comment for Most Potential.

Now, who wasted their potential the most. Some good candidates include (but are definitely not limited to):

Kwame Brown

Jan Vesely

Andray Blatche

Javale McGee

Nick Young

Oleksiy Pecherov

Gilbert Arenas

John Wall

Bradley Beal

Juwan Howard

Kristaps Porzingis

Rui Hachimura

Deni Avdija

Calbert Cheaney

Chris Webber. Dude was #1 overall pick from the prior year, total hype prospect. played a few seasons here and got to the playoffs once, but it never came together really, and then he goes to Sacramento and makes 5 straight all NBA teams.

For me this is Euroleague MVP Jan Vesely. He had all the athleticism, all the ability to play high-level basketball; he proved it elsewhere, but completely failed in the NBA.

Kwame Brown – from #1 overall pick out of high school to serviceable journey man. Definitely could’ve been a lot more. MJ should’ve been more patient and nicer to the kid.

RUI. Never got better, and has been the same player since he got in the league. I thought he had the tools coming out of college to be a legit star.

Ben Wallace. A HoF defensive unicorn and matchup nightmare that we let go for Ike Austin and bag of plain Utz potato chips. Landed here in the wreckage of the front office’s all time bad decision to hastily bail on Chris Webber. Blows up when he lands in Detroit and wins a chip on an all time team with not one but two other fumbled wizards in the starting 5. I’ve given myself an ulcer just typing all this out

I always thought Otto Porter Jr. had the potential to be even better, though he was still a solid player.
