  1. I think I agree with both Nick and Slightly that Dinwiddie will get some DNP and some spot start but in general he will be the 11th or 12th man. Gafford, Naji, Exum, Grimes, Hardy, Maxi then Dinwiddie.

Kidd has in the past kept the bench rotation the same when a player unavailable so I would not be surprised if games when Luka or Ky are out, Spencer starts and plays a lot of minutes and the others play their same bench role.

Dinwiddie averaged 7/2/2 with the Lakers in 25mpg. Exum averaged 8/3/3 in 20mpg and is a better defender. Everyone is going to comment about Exum falling out in the playoffs but Dinwiddie was also terrible in the playoffs last season. Exum was 2/0.8/0.6 in 6.9 mpg Dinwiddie was 3/1.4/1.6 in 14.9mpg.

  2. Every team neads some stabillity and comfort with a coach, so Kidd is the wright one for the job. SD is a 6th man for me to. I think it will be like he didn't leave. He will fit in spot, becouse of his adaptive spirit. His comment does not hurt, like you said he is comming home at mom in comfort as he didn't do well at dads.

  3. Idk REDUCE THE OVERALL USAGE OF LUKA THIS ROSTER IS GOOD ENOUGH TO WIN GAMES W/O HIM AND HE SHOULD NOT BE AVG 33+to the point of deteriation he can win mvp avg 29 10 10 kidd can do it and kyrie too we coming back and ain't writing back

  4. 6th man shouldn't matter because Gafford is likely the 6th man.

So the question should be, which guards are playing more? Ideally, Dinwiddie should be behind Hardy, Grimes because they're younger and more likely to stay longer than Dinwiddie, so they need more playing time to develop and find a role because if not and Dinwiddie is the primary backup guard, then might as well trade Hardy or Grimes because they're just wasting their time here in Dallas

  5. I don't really care about the Mom vs Dad thing. For me he made a business decision, back then the Mavs was yet to make their run, and their guard rotation was crowded. He thought that the Lakers had a change to make a run in the Playoffs and he would have a more important role there, if things went according to the plan, he would get some nice offers since he would become a FA in the off-season. He didn't get it right, but I get the thought process… hahahaha…

  6. Hopefully Naji, Grimes & Gafford are our first 3 rotations. Then SD, Exum should battle for the next rotation with Hardy, OMax, Edwards & Maxi rounding out the 14 with Powell or Sharpe filling the 15 spots. I just don't see Morris or Powell both filling the last spot. I think OMax & Sharpe should see some early game mins to see if they are ready or do they need to go to G league.

  7. For regular season a 12 player rotation should be utilities keeping Luka, Irving & Klay healthy for the playoffs hopefully playing 32 to 36 mins for regular season then picking up mins comes playoff as rotation is cut back to 8 to 9 players. Luka, Irving, Grimes, SD, Exum, PJ, Naji, Hardy, Liv, Gafford, Omax, Edward's are my top 12 with possibly Maxi taking Edward's spot if he is healthy and hitting his 3. Comes playoff first you hope Luka, Irving, Klay, PJ, Naji, Liv, Gafford an whoever the next players who are playing best earns the mins.

  8. I don't think Kidd did a great job coaching last year. IMO Luka, Irving, PJ, DJ, Liv & Gafford just had solid years with Luka having a MVP type year and Irving had a All Star level. We just need our top 7 players to stay healthy just like most teams. But this team is highly talented, young and deep. If they don't go at least to the Western Div round then Kidd should go. As a coach your key goal is to get players to play up an above where they have played before.

  9. We lacked ball handlers and shot creators during the finals. Sd is just that. Very underrated signing. Now we have Luka, Kyrie, Dinwiddie, Exum that can all play pg.

  10. IMO Klay is the perfect 6th man for Mavs, he can asume high volume shots on the 2nd unit (one of Mavs main weaknesses)+ less defensive responsability+less fatigue to close the games , although i think that he needs to be starter at the beginning to not feel betrayed by Mavs.

  11. I honestly think it could be a five-man rotation for those six This is the deepest team they've had in a very long time.

    Dinwiddie
    Hardy
    Grimes
    Marshal
    Gafford

That 5 might win 25 games by it self.

  12. I only see OMax playing if Maxi gets hurt.

If OMax pops and plays well, maybe he takes some rotation minutes from Maxi.

Otherwise, no way he cracks the rotation. It’s 12 deep as it is.

He is a development player to eventually replace Maxi in frontcourt.

  13. when giving a choice the kiddiot will always choose over 30 overrated, overpaid, injury riddled, washed up has beens every time look out for super Dwight and lay-up line maxi misalot being starters lol

  14. To me, OMax moves more like a football player than a basketball player. Maybe he could develop into a too tall jones type player if he moved over to the Cowboys.

  15. I'm not saying you are wrong but the range for Dinwiddie between 6th and 12th best player is wild. It was just two years ago when Spencer was considered 2nd best player on the Mavericks.

  16. It would be unfair to ask or expect Dinwiddie to perform like he did 2-3 years ago. Anybody’s confidence will take a hit going from 15 mil to 5 mil and during this time two teams not wanting him on payroll.

  17. Wasn’t feeling this podcast. Plus Mike has only been here since the last week of the regular season? Didn’t feel like he had much to add to this podcast. Plus his mic wasn’t close enough.
