Why does this guy write for the Raptors

Credit to Ok-Net9433 for the information don’t know how to tag

Someone already posted on the other thread he was waived last year around deadline time to make room for the new guys coming in. He was almost retired because of blot clot issues and the Raps paid his whole salary too . They would’ve kept him but he just wasn’t cleared

And his agent already said he wants to return to the Raptors  https://www.si.com/nba/raptors/toronto-raptors-among-several-teams-keeping-eyes-on-christian-koloko

  2. I really could not care less about doug smith’s opinion. He was waived after months of not clearing health protocols, still got all his money. Not the same as being cut because you weren’t good enough or painting it as if he had some player option violated. “Non-starter” to restart his career here when all of his nba connections so far are based in toronto is idiotic.

Why does Doug always sound so angry about certain things? You can just feel him raging when you read this. Also anything positive about Scottie he discusses like someone pissed in his cheerios

Someone give Doug a hug he needs it!

  4. Maybe me and Douglas are watching a different Toronto Raptors but we are a tanking team that is looking to lose games THERE IS VERY MUCH a spot

Doug Smith needs to retire: he’s terrible at his job and doesn’t seem to enjoy it, he’s clearly miserable and the majority of the fanbase can’t stand him. And his negativity is really insufferable.

Smith’s mailbags are the least informative Raptors reporting there is. He’s just responding off the top of his head without doing any research or even just basic factchecking. He’s okay for writing basic Raptors news stories to a casual audience (ie. Not people on this subreddit), but mailbag articles are only useful when the writer is an actual expert on the subject who makes a point of staying well informed.

Also, I know Aaron Rose gets lumped in with Smith as journalists who are primarily regurgitators of other reporters’ work, but Rose should get credit on the Koloko story as the only Raptors media member doing any sourced original reporting on it.

Also, I’ve just done a thorough breakdown on what we do and don’t know about Koloko’s situation here:
