He RIGGED NBA Games For Money… And Got Caught

At first glance, this might seem like a typical NBA game… its the middle of March, late in the season, with one team (the Raptors) just winding down the end of a disappointing season.

But behind the scenes, a MASSIVE betting scandal was underway involving a promising young NBA player in Jontay Porter who THOUGHT he was getting away with it… and is now not only banned from the NBA for life… but is also facing spending YEARS in federal prison.

  1. I highly doubt he gets 20 years. He himself may not be rich, but he has the luxury of having a rich family member. He's going to have a very good, high-powered attorney. My prediction would be some kind of plea deal that has him out in a few years if he goes to prison at all.

  2. Jesus loves you! Jesus saved my life! From suicidal to SAVED! Read the Bible! Pray! Have Faith! God bless! Repent and follow Christ! Jeremiah 29:11 Psalms 62 Jesus knows you by name! Seek Him!!

  3. He was already making enough. Not only that, he was making enough to invest in SEVERAL self sustainable passive income options. Smh

  4. Oh no, this generations attention span is so cooked we are getting a rewind about something that happened literally like six months ago 😭😭.

  5. I mean vegas themselves can pay off voters, for league awards, to maximize their winnings.

Also, those awards can in-turn change the salary of players, interfering with teams cap flexibility.

They should get rid of media votes, for awards.
They should just get rid of individual prop betting, at the very least on 2-way players.
Jontay was actually a really good player, when he was trying.

  6. I think he is running out of ideas as this point. This whole thing ended months ago why are we bringing it up now 😂 but I gotta respect the hustle, gotta make money somehow

  7. Jontay should have just tried to be a decent rotation player in the NBA and he would made millions easily. Instead he does this.

  8. His brother, MPJ, cheated the Nuggets by making them think he can actually play. Not sure who’s worst

  9. I'm not making excuses for him but I watched a documentary a few years back about how private, lets just call them "gambling associates" would put credit on college kids and young NBA guys who they thought were serious gamblers. Then when they rack up enough debt and because they are seriously dangerous people, they step in with threats and intimidation tactics like permanently injuring them if they don't get the money in a ludicrously low amount of time and then when they are at their lowest, they approach them and instead of hurting them they offer them a deal and that's how they get into the game. Once they take the deal they are trapped for life. Not saying that happened to him but the guy was on probably 7 figures on his rookie contract with a chance to make tens of millions over his career so having an illegal side hustle to make extra money is not something any rational person would do.

  10. If yall havent noticed Michael mentioned sports bettors fans cryring about losing rent on betting on his podcast with Aaron Gordon*, and few months later this happen…and now MP podcast is dry 😂 the apple doesnt fall too far feom the tree…and then coincidentally MPJ game fell off 😂 in the playoffs at that…

  11. I would swing at my dad on the daily if he named me Jontay. Like bro what the fuck is wrong with you? You couldn't give me a real name?

  12. Wait how can he be justified for serving up to 20 years. I don’t think that’s fair. Now what he did wasn’t right but 20 years is excessive. Give him 5 max

  13. I know you guys haven't been to jail much less pen, so let tell you; however bad you think it would suck to go from professional athlete to penitentiary, multiply it. Ten fold

  14. The most frustrating thing about this story is that Porter basically became a gambling addict, getting specifically addicted to the NBA's biggest sponsor's product, the same way that HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF NBA FANS are now addicted to Fan Duel and other online betting outlets after it's been pushed in their faces for a decade. And no one is talking about it, because every sports media outlet is completely bought and paid for by that same, addictive product.

The NBA has no integrity if it "attacks the problem of" gambling with one hand and sells it aggressively with the other. Honestly I am impressed you are even HINTING out loud that this is a larger problem, even using neutral language – literally no one in sports media is covering this story properly because they know who pays their salaries in 2024.

  15. This just highlights how addictive gambling is that a man can risk his NBA career where he could have potentially made millions just to gamble on games for a few thousand bucks.

  17. SKIP
Narrator lies over and over and over. He just makes up details he thinks are true then proclaims his made up details are actually facts.

  18. Why play in the nba and make millions, when you could fix games and make thousands. This is big brain thinking guys
