After watching a 2 hr compilation of Steph’s 40+ point games from his career (including the playoffs), I wanted to count who he did it against the most out of pure interest only to find out the man added to his legend as a “Clipper killer” like LeBronto or MJ & Cleveland since Steph’s scored 40 or more against the LA Clippers eight times.
The second most is the New Orleans Pelicans, which he’s scored 40+ against them on seven different occasions, including once in the 2015 playoffs (with the famous corner three over Anthony Davis that should’ve absolutely been a four point play) and as recently as 2023-24.
The entire list I kept count on is as follows (the * represents when Steph Curry has scored at least 40 against that particular team in a playoff setting):

The only teams he hasn’t scored 40+ against are the Brooklyn Nets and Detroit Pistons, but the closest is 39 vs. the Nets in 2017-18 and 38 vs. the Pistons in 2015-16.

Since LeBron and MJ were mentioned, here is an interesting stat: Curry and LeBron combined (regular season + playoffs) have a total of 183 games of 40+pts in 2882 games; MJ alone has 211 games of 40+pts in 1251 games.
