I hope one day we will see IQ back on the Knicks
As much as I love this team, we lack “homegrown” talent.
RJ, IQ, Obi, and Grimes are all gone (drafted from 2019-2021). Sure we can comment on how they didn’t all pan out like we thought but they were on the 2021 and 2023 teams (besides Grimes). They were instrumental in turning the franchise around and were also key pieces in upgrading our roster for OG and Grimes became Bojan which was a salary match in Bridges trade.
While Mitch and Duece are the only homegrown guys left (who play), the team does have a lot of legacy guys.
Randle and Brunson are KNICKS. Melo is in a similar fashion, didn’t start out as a Knick but will certainly be remembered as one.
Randle and Brunson and hopefully OG and the other Villanova guys will be remembered largely for being on the Knicks.
