The league Board of Governors voted to approve a change to the challenge system for next season so now fouls can be called retroactively on OOB reviews. The example cited in the change? Kyrie fouling Jaden in the last minute of WCF game two.

Glad they’ll be more likely to get the call right going forward but man that still stings.

Nice, 100% chance this rule screws us next year

I have no doubt in mind we will be in an important position next year in which this rule change will backfire on us

It’s crazy this already wasn’t a part of the rule given a few years ago they were able to call a tech, and wipe off points for KAT on a clock review vs Atlanta.

Based on the tweet, this change is only for reviewing out-of-bounds plays. Which is good, but why only in that situation? I’ve definitely seen it where a foul is challenged and it’s clear on the replay that the foul was only committed because the player was fouled by the other team first.

I don’t remember the other team or players involved, but there was a okay where a Wolves player had a foul upheld against them even though it was clear on the replay they were hit by the other team first. It was a sandwich situation where the only reason they ran into a player was because another one shoved them into it.

That still can’t be overturn based on this change. Baby steps, I guess

  6. This cost the NBA an extra game of money. It was such a stupid rule. I’m happy it’s getting changed.

We would’ve won the series if it wasn’t for that call
