The A’s are not guaranteed to play postseason games in Sacramento

The Oakland Athletics will be playing games in Sacramento from 2025-27–at the very least–but that doesn’t mean that they will play potential postseason games at Sutter Health Park.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Jason Burke, the A’s are not guaranteed to host postseason games in Sacramento during their time in the 916. Instead, the Athletics could play those games at an alternate location.

Carmichael Dave and Jason Ross share their thoughts on the report.

  1. Is this really shocking for Sacramento since we all can see how John Fisher and Dave Kaval operate? To all those shmucks who bash the A's fanbase as reason for the team's relocation, this is another bit of evidence why fans don't support the team. IT IS THE OWNERSHIP! Welcome to our world, Sacramento.

  2. MLB would easily override the Giants say in the expansion conversation if they see potential in Sacramento.

  3. I mean Sac wants baseball and Fisher is using Sac to accomplish his goals. You get a baseball team temporarily but there's a catch ⚾ the team doesn't care to attach Sacramento's name to their brand/likeness & you will pay the price 💰🤑 to watch baseball, very hot baseball. And if you guys are lucky enough to reach the playoffs as a reward for supporting this temporary team, you get to root for the non-Sacramento A's to maybe just maybe bring back a World Series title to umm… Nowhere???

  4. Possible playoff games at a alternate location might mean that MLB would require them to be played at a MLB park. Dave's suggestion that the location might be another minor league park, Fresno, Reno, Salt Lake or Vegas makes no sense. The upgrades at Sutter Health Park to allow the A's to play there during the regular season are something those other minor league parks won't have. What would be the point?

  5. It'd be nice if the A's could remain in Sacto!!! But it's a done deal!!! The A's are moving to Vegas!!! Fishface sucks!!!

  6. Sacramento should host MLB Post Season games in Sutter health Park. If the A's do get to the Playoffs. Having postseason MLB baseball at Sutter Health Park would boost Sacramento's economy in October, also with the Aftershock Music Festival in the same mouth. Alone with Kings Pre Season and Regular Season basketball also in October.

  7. TRIVIA In the eighties the National League offices declared that the Chicago Cubs would be forced to host playoff games in Milwaukee because they didnt have night baseball. The Cubs then immediately installed lights at Wrigley Field and the ruling was rescinded.
