Mavericks Rumors After Signing Markieff Morris In NBA Free Agency Ft. Kyrie Irving & A.J. Lawson
The Mavericks made their final move of the 2024 NBA offseason over the weekend when they signed Markieff Morris to a one-year contract in 2024 NBA free agency. The Mavs were rumored to bring back Morris all throughout the offseason and Mavericks GM Nico Harrison finally got the deal done just three weeks before training camp ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season. Morris will be at the end of the bench and play sparingly, but will be a leader when Jason Kidd needs a player to keep everyone in line. The latest Kyrie Irving news comes after his Twitch Live Stream where he admitted his 2024 NBA Finals performance was below par. When the Mavs lost in 2006 or 2007, Mark Cuban said he made a mistake by not rehiring the team’s psychologist. Mental stability and positive motivation is underrated in all situations. The Mavs need Kieff’s leadership. Don’t underestimate it.
Waste of spot. Should be giving OMax, Edwards & Sharpe those mins to see if they can develop into role player. Morris gives 0 on the court, a bench player can NOT and should NOT hold starters accountable. That comes first from the coaching staff then the leaders on the team which this year should be Luka, Irving & Klay. Teamwork works best when each player knows his role and accept that role. We dont need million dollar cheerleaders. If you cant contribute on the court you shouldn't be on the bench. This is professional basketball at the highest level NBA. Use spots 10-15 to develop your young players or put a veteran with a skill set that can contribute ie a 3 point shooter, a point of attack defender , even a inside the paint enforcer. Not cheerleaders.

He played 34 games in 2 season with the mavs… might as welll hire him as a staff and get another player, young that can defend.
I cant believe we actually got Morris! This is the best move of the offseason! Hes so important to the roster!

For AJ I would try to find and short and fast PG as close as JJ Barea. Imagine a guy like that blowing by opponents with speed. When a player blows by another one someone has to help
