Demar just keeps on finding ways to make me love him..

Back during his Toronto days I was was… Honestly a big outspoken proponent of him being the most overrated player in the entire NBA

He somehow has become underrated, and extremely underrated as a human being

    The guy is just awesome.

I was present for that game. The atmosphere of the building was so electric & you could definitely feel the significance of how much that game meant for the city & fans. I’ll always be grateful for Kawhi & what he gave Spurs in his former years, but truthfully his departure & more so the way he departed really haunted the organization for several years following.

That being said, the wound definitely healed itself when we got Victor, & in a way the basketball gods blessed us with him as the pillar of our newfound hope towards the future.

Love Demar! What’s this from? If a podcast would love to listen to whole story.

I remember someone on TV, I think Kenny Smith iirc, said from the way the Spurs players came out they really wanted to beat Kawhi. It was obvious on screen too but glad to hear it confirmed

I would be happy to welcome demar back one day late in his career either as a player or as a coach. Dude is legit, can’t wait to read his new book

Demarr should come back late in his career for an off bench role and maybe a chip if wemby is ready to carry

DeMar is the best. Absolute pro and gave it his all with the Spurs. I really wish that team would’ve worked out with him and LMA as the anchors. We didn’t have the right supporting cast of 3&D players unfortunately.

I remember Chris Webber had a narrative to spread that game. He was talking like Kawhi was wronged and he was going to show the Spurs what’s up. All game long he had these phrases ready to go because he assumed we would get crushed. He even called out the fans during the broadcast and was acting like we weren’t fully into the game even though it was so loud in there you could barely hear him. I was already highly anticipating that game but his comments just made me even more upset. It’s like he couldn’t separate those narrative in his head with the reality playing out in front of his eyes. Well, he ended up looking like a clown all night.

Destroying Kawhi and the Raptors that game was one of the most therapeutic sporting experiences I’ve ever had not only because of the obvious stuff but because it shut up dudes like Webber. I’m so glad he’s done commentating, that style of color commentating is insufferable.

is he coming back or did he sign with someone already? i dont remember

    I was at this game.
    The crowd was insane.
Every time KL touched the ball, whether it was in passing or he was taking a shot, he was boo’d. Like immediately.
And when he passed the ball to someone else, the booing stopped. And when he received the ball back in transition, he was booed again. The whole game. He was warming up before the game, and when he touched a ball, he was booed
His mom was at the game, and people were getting into it with her. She was talking mad shit and the fans were letting her have it.
    Game was fantastic

i was there, drove down from dallas with my sons to go.

we boo’d the shit out of kawhi. funniest thing was the tribute video – the organization knew we would boo kawhi, so they combined his vid with danny green, figuring we wouldn’t boo danny, he hadn’t done anything wrong.

so the video kept alternating between danny and kawhi clips. we all boo’d kawhi and then would switch immediately to cheering when danny came on. then the next cut and its a kawhi clip, and we’re booing as loud as we can.

i’m sure pop would be all hurt about it after his comments last year. but what Pop doesn’t understand is that THAT attitude is part of San Antonio culture. if you don’t rock with us, fuck off. and we have no problem letting you know.

that has been part of SA before the spurs got here, and isn’t going to change. never forget that the baseline bums dumped guacamole on larry brown after he said the only thing he liked about San Antonio was the “guacamole salad”. 1) only a gringo would call it that and 2) that was in the SEVENTIES. the entire city identity is wrapped up in “Remember the Alamo” – y’all beat us but we aren’t quitting and you can get fucked.

you don’t like it, go coach in orlando or something. i love and respect pop, but never put yourself above the fans. that was uncool.

you coach, kawhi will play, we’ll boo. And no one will die.
