The Knicks can make it clear they want Randle by releasing a statement indicating that Randle is part of their future… as the Bucks did with Brook Lopez. You don't see anyone talking about Brook Lopez trades anymore. Or….they could…extend him. We wouldn't be talking about Randle trades if Randle had an extension. Randle trades are being discussed because trades are always discussed for players in Randle's situation.
The trade scenarios suggested appear lopsided because Randle is a 3 time all star whose game doesn't fit anywhere. You guys keep saying it's the best supporting cast he's had…of course it is…we know Randle has great teammates. The issue of concern is Randle, not the rest of the team. You guys keep saying nobody plays like Randle. That's part of his problem. He doesn't have a plug and play game. Yes he's talented, but he's also in a unique situation. No other player is allowed to shoot so much while being so inefficient and turnover prone while on a contending team. He plays like a superstar. Lags on defense (so he can save energy for buckets). Closes out lazily (so he can pad his rebounding stats). The problem is he doesn't produce like a superstar and he doesn't do anything else but get his numbers. Everyone else surrounding Jalen Brunson is plus defender, rim protector, and/or floor spacer. Randle is none of that plus he's a turnover box. Nobody else plays like Randle because it's not a winning way to play ball…and he didn't get extended. If Randle played more like OG, he'd have his money.
What I like about the Knicks organization they don’t talk to much and make deals with no benefit anymore. Guys can talk whatever it’s not going to change our commitment to compete. The Knicks with Randle needs to have a statement year
Can’t win championship without Randle. There is no 4 comparable in trade market close to Randle who is All NBA, All Star and Knicks will regret trading him where other teams will not give up their superstar PF to the Knicks. Knicks do not have a replacement at the moment at the 4 spot. Until they have a replacement that is a 4 and no one his size that can counter PG, Siakam, Tatum, Banchero, etc in EC
