pretty sure keon said he played football during his deuce and mo appearance. I think he should be the starting 2 and Kevin heurter back in shape would almost be too good for the bench which is a good problem to have. plus heurter vs other teams benches might make him look better for trading purposes or his own confidence, either one would be nice
heurter for jon isaac at the deadline? 😎
My thoughts on the pod as a Kings fan:
– You have to bring Greg on more than once a year. His analysis is spot on and not completely colored by his Kings fandom.
– Guess who was #2 in Grant's much maligned overrated player piece 2 years ago? DeMar DeRozan. lol Can't wait to hear Grant's takes throughout the year.
– By adding DeMar, did the Kings sneakily suppress Keegan's production this year to get him on a better contract extension this summer?
– Huerter won't be traded until Monte McNair believes he is getting a clear upgrade. See Bagley and Barnes.
– Devin Carter is going to prove Greg wrong. He is super long and athletic, rebounds well (which historically has shown to translate from college), and has a 37% 3P% on a difficult 3P shot diet. Excited to see him when comes back.
– McNair is disciplined in trades because he holds out for the big fish (which stems from his HOU days) and needs all the ammunition he has since the Kings haven't traded for a first since Boogie. If he needs one more first that he doesn't have for a big fish because he traded for PJ Washington, then the front office would be kicking themselves.
– IMO, Monk has a de-facto trade clause since he took less money and committed early to give the team plenty of time to prepare for the draft and free agency.
– Prediction: Kings WON'T make a midseason move. I think the front office is targeting Markkanen next summer/year due to his age, shooting, and fit with Sabonis.
– Fox and Sabonis get no respect because the Kings still have little brother vibes from the national media, and they haven't done anything in the playoffs.
Great pod overall!
You're a machine, Dan. The rate at which you're pumping these out is unbelievable. Thank you for your service.
