Nic Claxton and Noah Clowney could form one of the best NBA defensive pairings

Though it might go largely unnoticed this season because of how things are shaping up for the Brooklyn Nets, it stands to reason that Nic Claxton and Noah Clowney could form one of the league’s best defensive tandems. Their ability to switch 1-5, rim protect, and overall athleticism means the Nets have a lot to work with on the defensive end.

  1. Now imagine if you have a 7 foot Physical Center, Claxton at the four and Clowney at the three they can play with anybody in the league or Cam Thomas as a scorer

  2. They did that back in the days with no problem set a bunch of pics, double pics, triple pics and free up your shooters and scores

  3. A big reason Bridges couldn’t hit a shot in the forth quarter last year is because they just ran on offense last year and we’re undersized. By the 4th qr he was exhausted because he had to guard guys way bigger than him. Takes a toll on you jumpshot
    They need to get bigger

  4. I honestly think the Nets this year are gonna surprise the league. Remember in 2015 I believe after Lamarcus Aldridge was traded from Portland to the Spurs, Portland was projected to be a bottom 5 team in the league, one of the worst. Yet they surprised everyone finishing 5th in the West. Now I’m not saying Cam Thomas is Dame, but I’m also not saying he can be an integral reason why we do great. Then you obviously have the versatile big guys Clax and promising young Clowney, and if Cam Johnson can redeem himself this year it might be a surprising season for Brooklyn. I think we can compete for the play-in at least

  5. What I would like to see is Clowney and Claxton at the 4 and 5 respectively. Instead of Clowney at the 3, let Wilson 6'6, Watford 6'9, and Z williams 6'8 compete for the 3. I would put Thomas at the two and let Schroeder run the Point. I would let Shake be the second string, and Hayes run 3rd. Plug and play everyone else…

  6. But If I'm being honest , I like teaming Thomas with his buddy Watford. Watford is effecient, and smart. Jaylen Wilson is all hussle, and Grit, love that off the bench. Dont know enough about Williams..

So… Schroeder, Thomas, Watford, Clowney, and Clax… and let the cards fall where they may…

  7. This Nets team will be better than last season We didn’t lose a superstar we lost a role player and gained Clowney a Wilson. Better coaching to. Taking the over. Good episode guys

  8. Yes, I really hope it works out. However, I think Doug’s missing a little bit here with Noah.

Sure, has he shown that he can hit a spot up three sure but actually now there are a lot of pigs that could hit up a spot three even Jonas can do that.

The problem isn’t Jess having a big that can shoot next to Clax. The problem is shot creation, and can that person create their own shot. Do the nets have enough players that can create their own shots that was the major if you with the nets.
