[Shams] 7-footer Christian Koloko is finalizing a return to the NBA and the Los Angeles Lakers are frontrunners to sign him among Raptors, Clippers and Spurs, sources tell @TheAthletic. Koloko is awaiting clearance to play from NBA’s fitness panel; however, he is eligible to sign now.

    NOOOO NOT THE LAKERS

On a serious note, very happy he’s on the cusp of returning to the league and can play again. Fantastic news for him.

Please don’t fumble this Masai. Hoping Shams put the Lakers like that for the clicks, not that’s they’re actually the most likely to sign him.

Edit: [Sounds like the Lakers are indeed front runners. Damn.](https://x.com/shamscharania/status/1834786391676375050?s=46&t=sbk6yuyliVaFRQjBUBJCMQ)

Edit 2: The Lakers have no roster spots and no non-guaranteed contracts, and are like $50k from the second apron. So they’re gonna need to find a trade to open up a roster spot and some $ for Koloko. This could be a leverage play from Koloko and his agent to get the Raptors to offer a fully guaranteed deal and possibly more than the minimum.

Which, I wouldn’t be against the Raptors doing. We have like 10m+ in space against the tax and the MLE, use it to our advantage here for once.

Happy for him but can the lakers fuck off. How much help does LeBron need man

COME HOME MY GLORIOUS KING 🇨🇦🇨🇦

  4. Vivid_Bluebird6625

No not LA, please Masai figure this out.

  5. DarkChocolate_69

This sub is not gonna like this one bit😭😂

  6. I tried top post but the Moderators kept taking down.

If Shams is reporting, it’s a done deal. Lakers most likely feeding him the info.

    Don’t do it, America

We will burn down the White House again

  8. AdministrativeBat486

LA keep stealing our free agents smh

  9. Annual_Plant5172

This sub having a collective meltdown because they think the Raptors were entitled to him is pretty hilarious.

  10. ZoroChopper10

Just be happy he can play basketball again man

    Not everything Bout raptors

  11. Hope he does get reinstated. Am agnostic on where he goes, think he was fine, but this board heavily overrated him. Dude acreage 3/3 as a 22 year old rookie, I hope he has a great career, but I feel like he’s a 20 minute a have backup at best.

  12. littlebaldboi

I don’t believe anything unless Woj reports it

  13. Raptorsthrowaway1

I will shit myself laughing if he ends up signing for the Lakers after the unfathomable stanning he has received on this sub over the off season 😂😂

Glad to hear he’s coming back to the league. Get that bag young man 🤌

  14. ilickedysharks

And the Thad Young trade keeps getting worse lmao. It’s really crazy how bad the ripple effect is of that and the Jakob deal.

  15. krypto9er

I will become LA’s biggest hater if they take away Koloko!

  16. LimestoneLeaf

It would be a great story to have him back, but Chomche will be better than him by the start of the 2025-26 season.

  17. ShadowKnight333

so he hasn’t officially decided on a team yet?

  18. Sucks if he leaves but it’s nice to see him get back in the league

  19. tightcorners

This will be the most raptor thing ever lmao

  20. krypto9er

What kind of contract can he be offered? Would the Raptors be able to give him a better deal than LA or Spurs?

  21. Can’t believe Doug Smith was correct . But good news for him !

  22. Another master class in asset management by the FO

  23. iloveball2000

Honestly cool with this just want to see him back in the league

  24. grenzowip445

Been saying he wouldn’t re-sign here if he got cleared. Path to minutes here is really not as open as some believe. Not a surprise he’s going elsewhere. Him and Wemby in San Antonio would be amazing defensively.

  25. klutch client it makes sense. happy for him to be healthy and back playing

  26. lillithfair98

Guys. He’s a second round pick who has barely played in the NBA. Be happy for his health! We’re not exactly missing out on the second coming of Tim Duncan – he would have likely spent time on the g-league to work himself back and even then competing with Olynyk for minutes…. at best.

  27. ChannelOnion

He gone.. if I don’t know how long my body has left, I am signing in LA while the offer is there.

  28. So happy he’s getting his career back, but eww Lakers…

  29. One_Ad_7788

If he goes to LA we will just stan harder for Chomche

  30. TommyTookALook666
