There’s nothing in the rulebook that says you can’t grope the shooter.

They played with a bunch of plumbers back then. He was just checking Pistol’s pipes.

Seems kinda weird. Like he was egging him on to go go go. Can’t identify the defender but Phil Jackson was on that Knicks team.

The mid-70s was a wild era for defense.
In the ’75 Finals, the Bullets’ strategy for stopping Rick Barry was to [punch him in the back of the head](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BuZrZe1UNI) mid-drive, hoping he’d retaliate and get ejected.

The league was 27 years old at that point.
If this was part of the growth process to get the NBA to where it is now, then I know of another league who happens to be 27 years old today: the WNBA

How the hell can young hoopers watch pistol Pete getting buckets like these and still say ignorant shit about the players not being skilled back in the day. Pistol Pete would still carve defenses to shreds today if you just plucked him out of his era and dropped him in current NBA. And he would do it while wearing fucking Chucks all game just for good measure

I wish Pete had stuck around longer to play with Bird

For you youngsters Pistol Pete was like if Steph Curry was a white Harlem Globetrotter.
