Down-voted coaches who worked with Pop, too. It was personal.

This looks like it’s more so accounting in how well teams were coached last season and factored in wins. That’s the ONLY way this makes any type of sense.

I think that’s pretty fair considering whose been at the forefront of recent developments in coaching and has achieved the most relative to talent in the last few seasons. It’s pretty hard to be among the best coaches on a bad team, you just don’t have the raw materials to keep up with the latest and greatest.

It’s clearly rage-bait to drive up engagement.

I can’t see how we can have a problem with this.

I obviously still have a lot of confidence and trust in Pop, and I think when it’s time for this team to actually start winning important games again, everyone will recognise that is actually still one of the top 5 coaches in the league. (Or alternatively, I also expect him to have the insight and self-awareness to step down if we get to that point and he realises he’s just not “that guy” anymore, or at least doesn’t want the repeated stress of long playoff runs).

But right now? It’s been 5 seasons since we actually made the playoffs. He’s probably only being named middle of the pack out of respect (as well as an understanding that expectations are different for a rebuilding team). I think it would be unfair to other coaches to rate him much higher right now.

Hahaha they have him behind Mike Brown oh my God

I don’t think Pop gives a single miniscule fuck or shit about this list 😅😆😁

I mean…the team hasn’t been the most successful as of late lol. If it’s a list of who’s coached to the best success recently then yea I mean Pop would be a bit down there. Obviously we know he’s an all-time great, the GOAT imo, but I don’t think we can just keep him at the top as like a ceremonial ranking when the team success hasn’t matched.

Lmao I’m not even a fan of Joe Mazzulla and I know that thats too low a ranking for him.

  11. Honestly, Pop did things that straight up made the spurs worst last year. The Sochan pg experiment. Playing Wemby at 4. Letting him freelance a lot in the first quarter of the year. Not playing Barlow. Now you may say he did it for youth development, I get that and I agree. But in terms of trying to get the most wins for that team, Pop was below league average.
